The pedal must have been misaligned. Had to junk the toilet.Re: Thetford 2018 replaced with Dometic 310I looked at the mods. Some I have done. Can’t put the opening on top of our water tank because it is under the refrigerator. I can see how the tank could get crud in it though. I should probably order the parts. We took our first trip with the new toilet and we like it.Re: Thetford 2018 replaced with Dometic 310Thanks. Good to know. I hope the valve lasts longer than five years. We also keep our RV’s for a long time. Although the problem must have been the pedal since that was what was actually worn out and beyond repair. I have a small tub of silicone grease that i’ll use. I have read about folks who had to change the gasket so when the time comes …Thetford 2018 replaced with Dometic 310I have had a few issues with our 2018 MW 25b plumbing. First the pump froze on the road and I took it apart but could not get the part unless I ordered it so purchased an AquaPro and installed it at the campsite. The next trip the toilet started overflowing so I assumed it was the valve. Luckily we were parked across from a nice bathroom and could do without water. I bought a new kit to fix it and while I was replacing the pedal the spring popped off. I saw a video of how to replace the spring by holding it against the toilet with a pvc pipe cap but realized the plastic lip that held the spring had broken off. We had our former RV toilet, a Thetford for the 11 years we owned it (and 6 before that) and never an issue. Bah humbug. So I needed a new toilet and decided on the Dometic 310 china bowl on a plastic base. Camping World had the best price but our local store was sold out. So I ordered online and drove about an hour to another store to pick one up. Could not wait for delivery since the next trip was coming up too soon. The install was easy and almost a direct replacement for the Thetford. The toilet install kit is sold separately but one also comes with the toilet. I kept the old bolts and just used the new ring. I did not have any problem with the new toilet leaking like some review complaints. I did drill a new hole for the water supply since the connection is in a different spot. I think it takes less space so there is a wider aisle to the sink and shower. Re: Replacing the house batteries...I also had to clean out the battery compartment with wire bush and baking soda. I used new cables and tossed the old ones. Sprayed the box with Harbor Freight bedliner and then found 2 LION Energy 105 amp hour lifepo4 lithiums that fit in our Minnie Winnie 25b step. Costco sold them for a good price in 2020. About $1600. But I did the whole conversion too Re: Winnebago Minnie water supply pipe problemToday it only took about 2 hours to use crimp rings and get the fittings back together. What a project. But it’s done and not leaking. My arms are only a little bruised and scraped. Ha ha. I fit it all together before I crimped anything. It took some finagling to get the pipes the right length. I had to cut about a 1/4 inch off this one. Once they were together I had to crimp them. Harder than it looked in this small space with the wire in the way. Some moved either too close or too far away from the fitting. But they don’t leak so it’s ok. Impossible to see even with a lantern so had to crimp by feel. Thanks for these comments. I wouldn’t have thought to replace the whole pex pipe and next time I have a leaky hose I’ll get a flair- it fitting. Now we have a pressire tank. I put one in our old RV and it really helps to minimize the pump running for the middle of the night bathroom runs. Re: Winnebago Minnie water supply pipe problemIt looks like if I had bought a flair it compression fitting for the hose I might have avoided the whole problem. Live and learn. I usuall tighten clamp fittings with a small ratcheting socket. I probably did these but really at this point I can’t remember. Senior brain.Re: Winnebago Minnie water supply pipe problemOk I did it. I cut the pex at the tee across from the water tank. I have a big roll of PEX so I just replaced the whole under floor pipe. That part was easy. But cutting the tee so close to the edge could have been a mistake. Or it was trying to use sharkbites. There was not enough room for me to seat the sharkbites. Then the tee didn’t line up with the third leg so I added an elbow and a pex loop to tie them together. The tee leaked! I have used a lot of sharkbites but I could not remove these! Not even when I cut them out! I have the tool that squeezes them together as well as the plastic ring. So it was back to removing the crimp fitting from the valve with vise grips and a screwdriver. I bought another crimper with a cutting function by overnight shipping. But of course I could not get it seated in the cramped space. Another hour or so of twisting etc but it came off the valve! I used the cutting tool to rescue the crimp fittings more quickly. It’s ready for me to connect with the crimp fittings now. Notice that I disconnected the heat ducts to have more room to work in the box. In the MW 25b all this is under a large storage drawer. I can only hope I don’t have to soak up the bursts of water in the underfloor compartment again.Re: Winnebago Minnie water supply pipe problemOk thanks. It is the white hose that was leaking. I tried both the screw clamps and the pinch clamp. I did not warm the hose as it’s in a very awkward spot. I’m going to get a clamp cutter and try to replace the whole under floor blue pex. Also very close quarters though! I have a whole bag of stainless crimp clamps. Re: Winnebago Minnie water supply pipe problemDang! After the initial disgust, I remembered the diagrams are on the Winnebago website! The blue pipe is pex. TUBING 1/2" ID PEX (BLUE) The question now is how to reach back there to cut out the hose and connector.
