Researching all of this, sure drums home how much I "don't" know! On towing..we would like to tow our Town and Country (mini van) behind the rv. How much of a strain does this put on the rv? Should we go something with less weight? Does the towing hitch and assembly make a difference? Flat, or front tires elevated? I've been reading online and frankly, it's confusing. So many different ideas and responses, so many contradictions. I was hoping to clear the air here. TIARe: Winter camping, or not Roy&Lynne wrote: I love winter camping in Washington. Parks are nearly empty so they are nice and quiet and you have the place to yourself. If your a senior, WA State Parks have a senior pass that cuts the fees to like $8 bucks a night. You can find parks along the sound, the Pacific and inland in the mountains, like those owned by Tacoma Power. Does it rain, yea, but its our drippy rain and the air smells so good Its cold at night, so you need extra blankets or a Mr Buddy but you won't freeze \ Hi, did you ever have to deal with frozen pipes, or damage from freezing? We are hoping to stay in the Sound, from what I have read they do get some snow, on occasion, but nothing major.Winter camping, or notHi, I have read the Winter Camping thread with great interest, as we are starting to head into Fall here (PNW)...and I worry. Hey, it's a hobby. I know to avoid Eastern Wa, if I don't want to deal with the freezing temps, can someone give me a direction for the Western side? How cold is too cold? When do I need to stress over frozen pipelines? We were thinking of sticking to the Olympia/Puget Sound area, but I'm wondering if we need to head to CA instead...Generator while drivingNewb here again.... What are the pros and cons to running the generator while driving? I'm reading conflicting responses, for keeping the fridge cold or using roof AC while on the road. ThanksNewbieOk...so we are hitting the road. Purchasing a Class A, sold our home, everything is in storage, now what, lol We are doing this because our house sold faster then anticipated, and we haven't found one we like, in an area we want to be in. So, we thought what better way to find that perfect place, then to visit it. My question is, we are on a fixed income, and don't want to spend it all on camping fees, how or where do people stay to avoid this? We applied for a Disabled Vet pass through the state of Wa, but I'm still not through all the fine print to see where this comes in handy. Can you share please where the best places are to park a few days at a time, and not drain the bank account?
