I've been using a store bought plastic chock in front and back on both sides of the trailer. These seems to move around some and get loose over time. On my previous dual axle trailers, I had a homemade chock made from 2 4x4 wedges that I put in between the tires and tightened a wing nut on a threaded rod. Thanks! I had the same issue with my coyote, what I found is a DIY solution that works really well. It is a home made wheel chocks that we use on our airplane. They are simply made out of 2x4s, Screw and glue 3 15"-18" pieces of 2x4 together in a U shape with open end of the U slightly wider than the closed end (measure it around your trailers tire) place on the ground so that the open end is hugging the tire and tap into place with a rubber mallet, so that the tire is wedged into the chock. They hold tight and really take nearly all of the movement out of the trailer. I painted mine so I could see them and help them last longer, they work great and were nearly free as I had all the material on hand alreadyRe: TV antenna performanceMaybe this is common knowledge but, when aiming the antenna I have the the best results when the small dipoles on the wingman are pointing 180 degrees away from the transmitter. I also strongly recommend the sensarpro for aiming and getting the best signal and most channelsCOYOTE OFF ROADER?I have a 2004 KZ Coyote 16 that is in excellent shape. We just love this little trailer. I am planning an axle flip and installing 16" Jeep Rubicon wheels and tires. (this is a single axle trailer.) I would like a little more ground clearance for boondocking, and a little more rugged look. the tires on the wheels are BFG all terrains but they are 10 ply and pretty heavy. But on the otherhand the stock wheels and tires are marginal for the trailer weight. I was just wondering if there are any drawbacks to doing this, that have not crossed my mind?(other than raising the center of gravity of the trailer) BTW tow vehicle is a 2003 Ford F150 FX4 4x4. Thanks in advance!!!Re: KZ Coyote wiringMy coyote has just a celing light in the bathroom next to the vent, couldn't you feed off of the light? Those fans don't draw mmany ampsRe: Where to buy solar blankets?Zipping window shaped panels of Reflectix into the bunk end window panels makes a huge difference when used with the popup gizmos, in cold or extra warm temps. well worth the extra effort and small expense.Re: Canvas corner fix arkantex wrote: Did you ever take pics of the tent seam repairs? We are in the same boat with ours right now. Sorry never did I'll have to wait a few more weeks before I start to get her ready for the upcoming season.Re: exterior refrigerator fanI installed one large 5" computer fan on my side vent fridge. I decided to mount it in the top to draw heat out. I wired in a led switch that lights up in blue when it's on, the switch is mounted on the fridge control panel inside the trailer. I turn it on when I feel the need, It works great and the LED reminds me it is operating. don't forget to keep the area behind the fridge clean and has good air flow. Also make sure there is no "dead air" space above the fridge for hot air to accumulate.Re: Cleaning Tent ends. Crashproof wrote: Thanks for the replys folks, I am talking mainly about the Canvas on the tent ends. No mold or mildew just wanting to maintain it in a clean fashion. I usually wash my truck with Dawn dish detergent is that ok to use on the canvas with a soft sponge. Thanks, Kevin Dawn dish washing liquid should be fine for the tent ends but I sure wouldn't use it on your vehicle, it will strip the wax off in just a couple of washings, always better to use a detergent made for washing you vehicle paint it's cheap and wont harm the paint.Re: Canvas corner fixThe purpose of the tank to have some pressurized water in the system so when flushing the toilet at night or running the water to get a drink the pump does not come on waking others that are sleeping. I just measured and mine ran almost a gallon before the pump came on, almost a minute,Re: Canvas corner fix xplodn wrote: What tank did you use? I used a 2 gallon water heater expansion tank. (Kenmore brand)i just googled it and bought the least expensive one I found. I tee'd into the pex just downstream of the pump. I turned on the pump and found that it ran for only seconds. (indicating that the pressure was too high in the tank) I released pressure from the tanks shrader valve until the pump ran for about 10-15 seconds and then tried the faucet. it ran and ran and ran for quite a while, (pump never came on) I will have to time it to see how long it will run without the pump cycling. but it is a long time, more than enough to flush the toilet several times without running the pump. Which is exactly what I was after. I also re mounted the pump with an extra mouse pad I had underneath the mounting base, it did help quiet the pump noise some as well.
