COYOTE OFF ROADER?

I have a 2004 KZ Coyote 16 that is in excellent shape. We just love this little trailer. I am planning an axle flip and installing 16" Jeep Rubicon wheels and tires. (this is a single axle trailer.) I would like a little more ground clearance for boondocking, and a little more rugged look. the tires on the wheels are BFG all terrains but they are 10 ply and pretty heavy. But on the otherhand the stock wheels and tires are marginal for the trailer weight. I was just wondering if there are any drawbacks to doing this, that have not crossed my mind?(other than raising the center of gravity of the trailer) BTW tow vehicle is a 2003 Ford F150 FX4 4x4. Thanks in advance!!!
  • Ten ply tires on that trailer would probably beat the rig to death,if you can even get them to fit. You could run them at low pressure, but then why spend the money on such a stiff tire. Put some load range C on it.
