If you disconnect the drive shaft, there should not be a need for the lube pump. The transmission will not be effected if it is disconnected from the rear wheels. The lube pump should eliminate the need to disconnect the drive shaft. But, maybe I'm wrong. You have enough towing capacity for the Suburban. :) Gbopp, I believe it is one or the other. Thanks Again. -Ron2007 Suburban 1500 2WDI've been doing the research and even emailed Remco and Blue Ox. I am awaiting their answers. Here is my question: I own a 2007 Chevy Suburban 1500, 5.3L, Auto, LTZ. This thing is paid off so I do not want to get rid of it for a 4WD or something with a transfer case. I need the 3 rows since there are 5 of us and usually the 2 friend tag-along deal. Can I use my vehicle as a TOAD and tow 4 down? I know it will cost a lot but we really love this vehicle and do not want to get rid of it. Need assistance in SoCal. Thanks in advance... -RonRe: cetane boostDiesel Kleen in the grey bottle for me. Not cold enough in SoCal to use the white bottle. I can get the grey or white bottles at my local Wal-Mart. Always in stock!Re: My Jamboree BuildOne of the BEST write-ups I've read. Pics are worth a thousand words. Descriptions were to the point and not wordy. Hondo, you have mad patience and skillz! -Ron in SoCalRe: Oxygenics shower head+1 Just added one before our last trip and water usage was down to one less water fillup for the 4 day weekend. 10 people showering and the normal water usage forces us to refill our 150 gallon fresh tank twice over 4 days. I know, I know, military showers, but try telling that to 2 wives and 2 teenage daughters. Not all mine. My family and my Buddy's family have been camping together, along with 5 other families and 3 other RV's for over 10 years. With the Oxygenics, I only had to fill up once. Nothing changed, other than adding the Oxygenics shower head. -Ron in SoCalRe: Gulfstream Super Nova CPretty Much what RJ4 said. I have a 2008 Gulfstream Supernova 6400N Grand Hotel. Not exactly your coach but on the same International platform. I've owned my rig since built new in 2007. I am the only owner. We live in the rig 4 days at a time. We are not full-timers. We go on long weekends and boondock in the So. California Desert. I pull a 20' trailer filled with ATV's and gear. The suspensions, power and torque are lacking, but I've added a TS Performance Tuner and it makes a world of difference. I can now pass big rigs and other Motorhomes on SoCal inclines. I also added an air bag suspension in the rear and huge RV shocks up front which now makes this "truck" ride like a bus. I am happy with the build quality for the price range. The interior is plush by my standards. DW and I have 3 children, (15 year old son, 13 year old daughter, and 8 year old son), all of whom wreck havoc on everything. The only things replaced interior wise was, the mattresses on the bed and the couch sleeper, the table base and microwave (DW needed convection). Just keep in mind, EVERY manufacturer and model will have pros and cons. There is no perfect rig only what model is right for you and your current situation. We started with the smaller 23' rigs and eventually moved up to the Grand Hotel. We bought the most we could with our budget. We did not not want to break the bank and never take a regular family vacation. I am sure once the family situation changes, we will eventually downgrade. I think I've instilled the family camping gene in my kids and they will eventually have rigs of their own when they start building their families. That was the whole point of getting in to RVing in the first place. The Gulfstream is not for everyone, but for me and mine...it is close to the PERFECT rig. Here are some pics: Here is a friend's Class Newmar Class A with my rig. After my air bag and front shock upgrade, the rigs are comparable in ride quality. My MAJOR mods are as follows: - Rear air suspension. - Front HD RV shocks. - New stereo system in cab (speakers, amps and subs). - 6-6v Battery Bank. - Hi Capacity Power Inverter. - TS Performance Engine Tuner. - Convection/Microwave Oven. Test Drive it, kick tires, bring the whole family too boot. Test drive and look at other rigs. Be INFORMED and then make an educated decision. DO NOT rely solely on blogs from boneheads like me. Good Luck and I hope to read about your new rig in the near future. -Ron in SoCalRe: what are the pro's & con's of renting an rv?We rented for 3 years before taking the plunge. Pro's: 1. You get to experience RVing before making a huge investment. 2. Learn RVing ins and outs on someone else's rig. 3. After your trip, you give it back. The problems you experienced during the trip are no longer yours to deal with. Con's: 1. Renting is EXPENSIVE! They charge for everything. 2. You USUALLY are not allowed to tow with a rental unit. Some places block off the hitch or pull it out completely. 3. Who knows how other renters lived in that RV? All I can say is don't rent from an individual unless there is some kind of road-side assistance. I always rented from the big companies, just in case stuff hit the fan while on the trip. Just me $0.02. Hope it helps. -Ron in SoCalRe: Dodge a bullet!Great Tip. We boondock 90% of the time. I am anal about shutting off the pump when not using it. However, when we have full hookups, I am in lazy mode. I didn't even think about shutting down the city water to release that water pressure. Good Looking Out! -Ron in SoCalRe: First Time Awesome-Gas Grill?Weber Q200 owner here! 5 years and counting.
