I guess they didn't make them idiot proof.Vapor VentWhat's the trick to opening those little rectangular vapor vents in the walls of the toy hauler? I've never used them and haven't ever figured out how to open them. I don't haul gas or anything in there.Re: Looking for something that doesn't exist?I would never go back now that I have a toy hauler and all I haul in there are kayaks. It makes a nice office or extra bedroom once unloaded and it can be furnished anyway you like.Re: Who has a Jayco Talon?Love mine. I think after several years of use I finally have my first problem. I think the converter just went out. That's not made by Jayco and happens with many brands. I'll be replacing it when I get it back home.Re: Frustrated. Went TH browsing today...Just my personal preference but I'd never buy a new travel trailer. I've had excellent luck buying used. I like Jayco and love my toy hauler. There are usually a few nice used ones on ebay.Re: Converter Box and AC thermostatI'm not in a bind for AC as the primary ducted air is the only one with a thermostat. I was just wondering if this would indeed be a cause for the AC compressor not working.Converter Box and AC thermostatI've been having problems with my main air conditioner which is brand new. The compressor immediately cuts off. And a few days later the interior 12v lights start going dim more often than not. That got me thinking that maybe the problem with the AC is the converter box is going out since the thermostat is 12v. Could this be the case? Also I'm wondering if the batteries getting old and wearing out could be an issue. I didn't think so since when plugged into shore power the convertor box should run the lights without the batteries. Do I test the convertor box with a standard testing device? How should I proceed to find the problem? ThanksRe: Thinking about a Toy Hauler, but not for toysI have a Jayco fifth wheel toyhauler and wouldn't trade it for any other type of RV. You can turn the garage into anything you want. And being able to haul just about anything is fantastic. I only haul kayaks in mine so it's never super heavy. I love the tall ceilings throughout the trailer, tons of room, and storage. The garage is nice also when you need a seperate bedroom and some have a second bathroom.Re: Air Conditioning Leveling on Install stuplich wrote: boiledcrabs wrote: I see them on a slope too. I'm just going to flush mount it the same way I see all the others done. Why on earth would you mount an expensive roof air contrary to the manufactures instructions? As Mom used to say, "if your friends jumped off a cliff would you think it was a good idea and follow them"? But it is your money.... waste however you want to! Mel I would rather take my chance mounting it flush to the roof than to build a box and have it sitting two or three inches up off the roof on one end. I have never seen one done that way and there are a lot of them out there. My mom never discussed cliffs and I don't have any friends.Re: Air Conditioning Leveling on InstallI thought about the drainage. And I've watched it with the cover off. It seems to work fine. It is draining ok. I don't really see what difference the front to rear slope makes. Hopefully I won't find out later I was wrong but for now it's working great. Now to replace the main unit and add the unit to the garage.
