The only fresh tires my local shop could get me were gummy race types, so that just added to the fun. I had a VFR750 then and I could see the V-4 power pulses in the tires in the way the rubber was rolling up. Of course I also took the chance to take a lap on the backseat of Reg's bike that day, super smooth of course. Thanks everyone for your compliments on the photography, I don't think I need to reply/quote everyone. :P I approve of the direction this thread is taking. :) Reg is still at it, we shoot his CLASS events at Willow Springs Raceway/Streets of Willow. Actually met Christian Bale (Batman) at one of his days. He rolled up by himself, bike in the back of a pickup, just like everyone else. He's shorter than I thought tho, haha, but I'm 6'3", the only actor my height I've met so far is Will Smith.Re: My first year in photos. marcsbigfoot20b27 wrote: Nice! I raced superbikes for 10 years. Wish I had bought more pics back then but we spend all our money on racing. When not racing (and laid off from my semiconductor job) I was taking pics too and printing them at the track for money. Took a few pics a few weeks ago of my friends at the track day at AMP in Phoenix. I took the TT with me too but no pics of it. :( Nice shots. I bet you're one of the faster guys. :) Do you ever go out for any laps anymore?Re: My first year in photos. MackinawMan wrote: Boss....love the pic of the TT with the night sky and the stars...that's awesome. I also got a chuckle with the TT being hooked up to the big box truck and looking like a mini TT.. Might I ask where the pictures are where the camper is so close to (what I assume is) the ocean? Thanks, that was an 8 second exposure, I should have light painted the RV with a flashlight, instead of porch lights, that would have looked better. Yeah, I actually bent the tongue on my last lightweight TT towing with that big truck because it's so violent when it goes over bumps. I only had to tow it about 2 miles this time, luckily. The combo was measured 63 feet long! 2 feet short of legal limit. :) Rincon Parkway area in Ventura, CA: http://www.ventura.org/beach-front-parks/rincon-parkway and Emma Wood State Beach http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=604 Re: My first year in photos. jbrowning wrote: Did the fuel can and generator cause you to run hotter? Because of reduced air flow. Jim That was a concern, which is why I turned it sideways. I saw no noticeable difference in temps, although to be fair, my water temp gauge is the stock idiot gauge. I do however have a digital transmission temp gauge and big aftermarket transmission cooler, I usually hover around 180 just cruising or maybe 210 up hills in winter and 235-ish in summer. There was one 100+ degree day when it hit 250-ish over the Grapevine pass, but I don't recall if the generator was on the front or not. I never go over half throttle with that truck since it has 235k miles on original engine, so I'm "that guy" going 30 mph up the hill getting passed by semi's.Re: My first year in photos. kodiakcanuck wrote: The weight police shouldn't have anything to say when you tow your trailer with a 5 ton truck :B They recently re-opened one of their revenue enforcement stops on the freeway by my house. Really unsafe since the trucks are slowing down for the entrance and merging over at the end of an on-ramp. But I guess public safety < tickets.Re: My first year in photos. RDMueller wrote: Thanks for sharing, great pictures! The size was fine on an iPad by the way, also with the option to expand each to full screen. Not sure why they would have been too big? Maybe the iPad adjusts automatically... Thanks! One of my favs is the shot out the driver's side while driving looking back with sunset and light streaks. I edited the post with smaller photos and the expand link as recommended. They were 1200px wide, viewing on my desktop was fine, but maybe folks looking on phones or older computers have issues?Re: My first year in photos. BubbaChris wrote: Really fun, thanks for sharing. How has having the genny on the front of your TV been working for you? I wanted to mount on the back of the TT, but everyone said it's a lightweight frame and a) void warranty and b) possibly bend frame. Once warranty is up next year I'll have a shop reinforce the frame and build a receiver back there. Maybe even strong enough to put my sportbike on, we'll see what the fabricator says about weight. It works fine up front. I'm 160lbs and another guy 230lbs got on the empty cargo rack together and bounced up and down and it held solid. Although it's a bit concerning having a fuel jug on the front, maybe next time I'll put that somewhere else - worried a random cigarette flick might explode. But it has the added benefit of folks not cutting you off as much in traffic when they see that get up on the front lol. It certainly gets some head turning but highway patrol just passes by, unconcerned.Re: My first year in photos.OK, fixed em I think, thanks! That's a cool tool. testing... Re: My first year in photos. jbrowning wrote: Very cool. I know folks from here in Colorado with the MRA that go to Chuckwalla and race motorcycles during the winter months. Jim CVMA just had our last round this past weekend and I spoke with Wyeth from MRA as a matter of fact. The shot with the moon all the stars is from Chuckwalla paddock from just the other night.Re: My first year in photos. 2oldman wrote: Huge pictures. What size would you recommend? I can shrink. Modern forum software would size the shots automatically, not sure what they're running here but it's way outdated.
