All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Where to go..Appreciate all the feedback thus far...Yeah, I know, very general request. No kids, and we love the areas of Chattanooga, western NC, and N Ga, but we can do those in long weekends and want this to be more of an "away" trip. We are leaning heavily to Hot Springs area. This is one of the problems of not knowing what you don't know, if that makes sense. Just looking to hear what others have done and enjoyed that we maybe haven't thought about as of yet.Where to go..Winding down on our first season with TT. Starting to plan a week long trip for spring and wondering about some "must see" destinations. Need to stay within SE region, possibly up to IL, MN, and we lived in Fl for years, so Disney, etc is not a "must see" for us. After reading some threads around actually looking at Lake Ouachita...so.....let's see what you've got.... And THANKS!How far do you go in a day?Work is asking me to go to central Va for a week in early Dec. Initially it was going to be SC, I thought no problem, I'll take the TT and I can take dogs with me, no problem, 4-5 hrs drive. Like I said, now it's central Va, google maps calls it right around 8 so I'm thinking probably closer to 10. Thus, my question...what is your daily limit when towing? 10 hours would be like a drive back home to central Fl for me, and I can't really imagine doing that with a TT, by myself. Next question, anybody familiar with central Va for CG's, Appomattox Farmville area??? Thanks all!Dinette Fix HELPWent to drop some stuff off in our TT for upcoming trip, noticed that apparently on last journey home we had left a case of water on one of the dinette benches and it had actually vibrated apart. Wood loose all over. Now we have a trip this coming weekend and I want to attempt to at least get it usable. Don't want to do anything too permanent as I'd still like dealer to do a warranty repair if possible when we are done for this season. Sorry, I don't have pics. Any ideas???What gauge extension cord?Storage area where we have TT parked will allow us to plug in the night before to run fridge. The run is approx 100'. Trying to decide if a 12/3 is ok, or if I need to bump up to 10/3. Recommendations?Re: What the TT dealer knows about your TVI agree it is responsibility of consumer to know the details, however many new buyers simply don't "think" like that. Most people who decide somewhat spontaneously to get a trailer only know that they see ads talking about how much they can tow. Where I would disagree is that sales staff then need to cease the practice of asking what you are towing with, and responding with the all too familiar, "Well, you could tow anything on our lot." That attitude fosters a false sense of security. If they are going to ask what your TV is, then they should be prepared with knowledge of said TV, or look it up and get the particulars.PI EMS Protector QuestionsLooking at the PI EMS units for a TT. Will more than likely be 30A service. My question, do I then purchase a 30A protector? What if I end up in a site with only 50A service? Thanks, and I searched but may have missed this specific question.Re: 2014 Ram EcodieselI bought my 1500 Hemi knowing exactly what my limitations were going to be. Ram and Toyota were the only manufacturers out of the main 4 who adjusted payload/tow ratings for trim levels in their online calculators. So I guess all the bells and whistles on the Laramie don't weigh any more than the XL trim??? Get a grip Ford/GM fan boys....can't wait for SAE standards and see if your EB can still rate out at 11200 with full optionsRe: 2014 Ram EcodieselI had an EcoD on order until I started researching the true numbers, moved to the Hemi. But, while I was still waiting for it and stepped into a CW store, the salesjerk was happy to make the penultimate RV salesman claim, "Well, you'll be able to tow just about anything we have on the lot." I hate stupid sales people that I know more about their products and the circumstances surrounding than they do. But, as long as there some Ram and Tundra hatred I'll share the scene at the KOA I pass everyday as an F150 was sitting with it's rear wheels stuffed into the fenders with a 5er hitched to it....stupid people buy and drive all makes and models.Re: Tow chainsNot an RV, but had a boat/trailer come off the ball on the boat ramp one day and the chains saved us from losing the rig.
