I can only assume that my inverter was damaged because it should have charged fully for three weeksRe: Battery issues MountainAir05 wrote: With a slight load on any battery without any charger on it will go dead in a few hours to days. Once its dead they usually do not charge back up. Check the battery voltage on each battery using a volt meter. If each is below or near 2 volt DC they will not charge back. The new chargers will not charge a very low battery. Have you check the liquid level on each cell and each cell voltage. If you do not know how to do that post back. Will the batteries charge in they are shut off?Battery issuesI have a 2012 Winnebago Itasca. I bought all new Interstate battery in February, took the coach to Florida for 7 weeks without battery issues. All seven weeks we were plugged into shore power with the chassis batteries switched off, coach batteries on. I dropped my RV off to have some work done on it in June, when I went to start the coach all batteries were dead including the chassis battery. I get home and plug the RV in assuming it will charge the batteries. Three weeks latter the batteries are dead. My questions are as follows: Shouldn’t the batteries be fully charged after being plugged into shore power for that length of time (3 weeks). If when plugged in to shore power, when the RV is not in use, should I shut the coach battery off? If the coach batteries are off, with the batteries charge? Thank you in advance.Re: StepsThis post was very helpful for me. On a trip to Florida my stairs became erratic, opening and closing as we drove. I pulled the plug and wire tied the stairs up. I replaced the motor once I got to my destination. We stayed for 6 weeks assuming everything was cool, it wasn’t. As we rolled down the road the same thing happened. I pulled the plug and wire tied the stairs again, the motor was hot. Someone pointed out that it maybe the magnetic sensor. My apologies for not adding your quote to this post.Slide out room propsWe got these slide out room props that are designed to keep the slide out in place while driving. The previous owner said he never used them. We have an electrical lock out let for the slides as well. Do I really need to use these slide locks? Thank youFord ChassisMight be a stupid question. If my chassis in my class A is Ford, would my windshield arms be also Ford? One broke today on my way to Florida, now I’m in a Cracker Barrel for the night. ThanksLeaving tomorrow 13 degrees.I’m leaving Massachusetts tomorrow for our inaugural trip in our Winnebago Itasca, Sunstar 30T. I was told that filling the freshwater tank is okay if the heat is on to at least 55 degrees. Now that I’ve done this I fear I’ve made a mistake. Please advise, should I flush the whole system? There are a lot of systems to keep up. HTH, How do you weight a coach? Thank youRe: 1st time long distance trip need adviceThank you all, great advice. I’ve learned a lot from your comments.
