Lippert covered the axles and Cruiser forked out $65 for each tire for replacement which is alright i guess, probably more than what the cheap chinese tires that were on it were worth. According to the dealer all i have to pay was for the mounting and balancing of the tires. If so then I will be impressed with getting all of this done. Will let everyone know what it looks and tows like with the new axles and tires and hopefully this is the last with this issue as it has been a big headache.Re: 2011 Shadow Cruiser Axles CarolinaHokie wrote: Add me to the list of Shadow Cruiser owners! How do I know if I have the inferior axles or not? My shadow cruiser is a 2013, so I hoped I had escaped this issue. But on our last trip 2 of the tires got unusually worn. I am having it evaluated for the inoperable slide out tomorrow anyway so they are going to also look at the axles/alignment. This is our first TT so I am not sure where to start. Should I call Cruiser, or should I call Lippert? Our dealer is out of town so a local shop is doing the warranty work. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. We have only had it two months! Try and get the dealer to look after it as you have only had it 2 months and still have warranty. I would get the local shop thats looking at it now if the axles underneath are the 3500lb models or if they changed them. But i would report it to Crusier as well to let them know because this is a big issue now. Right now my dealer is dealing with Lippert with the issue as i was infromed from Crusier this morning. Still not sure why this woruld be Lipperts problem as they just supply what Crusier has speced for axles and ordered from Lippert. In my opinon after this many problems they should do a formal recall and get it over with and get everybody sorted out and keep them happy so you do not tarnish there name. What is wrong with your slideout?Re: Need new tires ALREADY! panamacamper1 wrote: I need to update everyone on what I saw today. I went by the dalership to get some things from my trailer. They have it since they are working with the manufactures on my issues with axles and tires. The very same issues everyone is talking about in here. BAM!!!!! I stood in amazement at the wonders of CARLISLE TIRES and these axles that are clearly twice as thick and round as the original ones, NO BS!!!! Don't take no for an answer. and work through your dealer. I will post pictures as soon as I can. Yes PICS please when you get a chance. Cruiser now has pics of my unit and it's sorting out the issue with Lippert so hopefully by Wednesday next week I will have an answer and see whats going on with my unit. Did they cover tires for you ? And you just paid the difference to upgrade ?Re: 2011 Shadow Cruiser AxlesI think it's just the earlier models but I would contact cruiser to find out. I'm not sure I would recommend cruiser unless they are going to step up to the plate and support the product they built and the people who bought them. I will see in the next few days hopefully.Re: 2011 Shadow Cruiser Axles panamacamper1 wrote: I don't think they will up grade my tires. I am still waiting for them to send the dealership the axles and tires. I just don't want that cheap china made******they give u for tires. I have pics and I'm curious to see if my issues looks like what you have. Has the dealer done everything for you under warranty or have you contacted someone at Lippert and Cruiser? My dealer has tried but my extended warranty will not cover it until i get an alignment first as they think that is the problem and of course they do not cover alignments even though that is not the issue and my one year manufactures warranty was done at the beginning of May. Trying to get ahold of someone at both companies I can see how this is going to go.Re: Need new tires ALREADY! panamacamper1 wrote: The dealer told me that Lippert was sending new axles that still had 3500 on the label but were really 5200. I questioned why something would say 3500 from the factory when they really are 5200. I will be able to see if there is a difference. What do you guys recommend for a 205/75/14 D LOAD tire. Who did you speak with at Lippert or Cruiser ? as i am having a tuff time getting answers out of anyone and would like to speak with whomever you did. Now i am having the same issues but my 1 year manufactured warranty is up and my Extended warranty thinks it is an alignment issue but is clearly not the dealer has replaced 30 units already this summer. Thanks for any help that would be greatRe: 2011 Shadow Cruiser AxlesAlso has anyone that has a crusier had this work done under Cruiser warranty with no issues if so who did you contact ? any help would be great thanksRe: 2011 Shadow Cruiser Axles panamacamper1 wrote: I have the same issue with my 280. I am currently fighting with the dealer, cruiser and milder as to why this unit has 14 inch rims. I was told that my new axles will still say 3500 lbs on them but be the larger and stronger 5500lb axles that are needed. They said it is because the spindles will not change only the axles. Ever heard of such a thing? Are they going to upgrade you to a 15 inch rim as well? If they do I'm going to try and push for that as well but I think if you upgrade to a 10 ply trailer tire it might be ok added with the bigger axels no?Re: 2011 Shadow Cruiser AxlesYes I do the dealer is putting on 5000lb axles and we will be sorting out the tire issue with tires i want .Cruiser and Lipert are playing the blame game with each other and not covering it under warranty. It's only being covered under my extended warranty which thank god. But Cruiser needs to own up to there mistake and make a formal recall. I will not buy a Crusier product or recommended them to anyone after this mess and lack of responsibility.Re: 2011 Shadow Cruiser AxlesGood point I will have to bring that up Monday when I drop off the trailer. I am glad they are going to fix the manufacturers screw ups. As much as i love the floor plan and layout and how the trailer tows After all the problems and bad design flaws with this unit I'm not sure if I will buy another Cruiser product.
