I do not understand how to remove the metal band holding it in place, as I do not see how to loosen it. Note: I had to add the image as a link as the picture would not display as embedded image. Valve Image thank you, DeanRe: Cast Iron Chefs - Guisado de Puerco con TomatillosI have had this pork stew many times, but it was always cooked in claypot. I may have to try making it in a dutch oven, I guess anything made in claypot could easily be made in a dutch oven. Thank you for bringing up this recipe. DeanRe: 7 Moles of OaxacaMy favorite is the negro mole. I have made it a couple of times and like most sauces, fresh is always better. We also use jarred mole "Dona Maria" brand and isn't to bad for jarred, which we thin with chicken broth and use on cooked chicken pieces over rice. DeanRe: Potluck ideas? DutchmenSport wrote: Also, know your audience. If those participating are all mid-west farmers, they are most likely not going to like Suchi. If your participants are primary from India, they will not eat anything with meat. Know your participants and consider what the average appetite is. Personally, I don't like beans and I don't like Mexican, and sometimes, I've left pot-lucks pretty hungry because of that. I agree in most cases, however this is an IT get together so the invite list are people from China, Ghana, Russia, and Mexico, with others having deep roots to Jamaica, Austria and Italy. Some good ideas so far, thanks! DeanPotluck ideas? We are doing a BBQ potluck with ex-co-workers, burgers & hotdogs. Looking for ideas for a couple of potluck items to make while camping, something not to difficult, but unique. Not looking to bake but do have crockpot. Thoughts? DeanRe: PaellaA few images from the paella. I started the paella sofrito on the fire but the wood was to wet from storms, so finished cooking on the grill. Image 1 Image 2 Image 3Re: Slide maintenanceThe dealer stated the slide mechanism is a LCI from Venture. Does that make a difference? You mentioned you use wax, what type of wax and how do you apply? Things I might try: Do a "ProtectAll Slide-Out Rubber Seal Treatment" on the outside rubber seal. Do one of these Camco Slide Out Lube, WD-40 Specialist Dry Lube or ProtectAll Slide-Out Dry Lube Protectant underneath on the slide rod with teeth. Baby powder on inside slide where it touches wall when extended, as not to stick to wall. Is there anything else easy to do for the slide? DeanSlide maintenanceThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 29683094Slide maintenanceAny recommendations for slide maintenance for our 2015 Keystone Summerland camper? After some research I have thought about using one of the following: Camco Slide Out Lube WD-40 Specialist Dry Lube Also maybe wiping down the inside out of slide with baby powder per this video. Any thoughts on my ideas or something better/different? Thank you, DeanRe: PaellaI most likely will be making a Paella next week while camping with the following: Sofrito Andouille Sausage Jumbo Shrimp Squid Chicken thighs Calasparra Rice Saffron Chicken Stock Peas Green Beans Red Pepper I might try preparing the sofrito ahead of time, prep cutting up the squid, chicken & andouille, and use frozen vegetables to save time. This is the first time trying squid, thus I might include it right after adding rice to tenderize by cooking/steaming longer. I will try to take some photos for future reference. Dean
