The shore power fluctuates, sometime as high as 133v. The rest of my rig is on the EMS which switches me to batteries/inverter over 131v. I took the fridge off that circuit because power failures are not uncommon and the fridge would take my batteries down fast, On a separate circuit a power failure will switch it to gas, but it is running without the EMS protection. Is the high voltage damaging the fridge? How high is too high?Re: How do they get in? winniman wrote: .....Dont leave food in your vehicle... Mystery solved on the color coding for my RV. It was obviously wired by a Rasta man.Re: Wiring color code?I normally meter EVERYTHING, but I did not anticipate the aluminum framework for the vent would be grounded. FWIW, it is, whether intentional or not...cost me a 15amp fuse to discover this and that green was hot. Learned something new. As a side note: living in a developing country I learned quickly that any color wire could/would be used for any purpose based on availability. If you were lucky it MIGHT be tagged with the proper color on the ends.Wiring color code?I just replaced the vent fan in the bathroom of my Class C. The switch was wired to the green wire. I thought it was odd that the switch would be on the ground side, not the hot wire. Turns out the green was the hot wire! Is this normal/typical? I am familiar with American, European, automotive and electronic color coding. I have never seen green used as a hot, or anything other than ground unless it was in a harness perhaps. Is there any standard of color coding for RVs?Re: Freelander 21QB owners?Thank y’all for your concern. I did not personally see the RV until about a month ago. My wife and a knowledgeable friend checked it out first, then a professional inspection before purchase. Not how I would have liked things to be, but it has worked out well. Spent some quality time learning the systems and upgrading to suit our needs. Now we’re rolling!Re: Inverter Remote LocationI’m going to stick one of those removable shelves on the wall and have a bit of exposed wiring. If i don't like it there, easy enough to change. I was going to mount the Xantrex XC remote in the closet wall with wiring concealed. There was plenty thickness for the unit, but Xantrex in their wisdom put the connector on the back of the remote...go figure.Re: Battery Monitor choicesI installed the BMV-712 this morning. So far I love it ;-)Re: Bypass RV electrical? Please except this as friendly concern: Yes it can be done. However, if you do not know how, are you sure you are the right person to correct the whole “mess” of your RV electrical?
