I had replaced all the coach batteries and chassis battery, before leaving, and for whatever reason the Power Gear jacks were inoperative. I had read on-line that this model of levelers were having problems and ordered a new replacement kit from BZB in Kingman AZ. On our return trip I had a medical emergency and clipped the right rearview mirror as well as the forward awning arm, breaking them both off. I was hospitalized for 3 days, and limped home after making some emergency repairs. 6 or 7 weeks later Velvac Mirrors and an RV salvage yard supplied me with the replacement parts. While waiting for those parts I shopped various RV dealers regarding installing the Power Gear kit. I took the coach to the selected dealer and they didn't get to it for 9 weeks. The problem wasn't the jack system but rather the power supply wire had been overlooked when replacing the batteries. Now, the issue. This Power Gear harness and touchpad is still in the box it was shipped in. All components are still sealed in the factory plastic bags, and the touchpad in it's original box. BZB offers a 60 day return policy, cut and dried. Yes it's been 5 month's since being purchased, however I feel the extenuating circumstances warrant some consideration to return it. Am I wrong here? It wasn't my fault that the mirror, awning arm, and service department took so long. What are your thoughts guys?Re: Lesson Learned; Stuck in SandIt takes a little bit of skill to spot soft sand, unless it's soft everywhere. We frequent Dumont Dunes, 33 mi. N.E. of Baker Ca. Out there, the winds howl almost weekly, and leave a solid gravel and small rock surface. Driving on that is not an issue, BUT, let several RV's pass over a certain spot, as if in a lane, or caravanning in single file and that dirt quickly turns into a fine powder. Curving around it to virgin gravel is the best bet. If that's not an option, then powering through it at speed will also work. In really soft sand that is everywhere, airing down all tires and speed are you're best ally, and staying in as straight a line as possible is too. Have a target spot to stop, that appears to be more firm before you ever stop.Re: U.S. 395 in April? Here are a few web sites; CA. Hwy Patrol US 395 Weather, road, and camera locations Mammoth Weather Mammoth Mtn. RV Park. I would recommend calling any particular RV park ahead of time for conditions.Re: 2014 weight loss program for Class CHeck, if the scales are close enough, remove both the inner wheel/tires, and the chains, and you will surely be well under 10K#...... and I REALLY don't recommend this, but I lost my disclaimer form for you to sign, but it WILL accomplish your goal. Also remember to have all liquid tanks empty.Re: Solar panels installed and why370 Watts, and batteries are @ float level, even on overcast days by noon. Under full sun I can watch TV W/Kenwood Surround @ full tilt, and the solar is supplying more than I am consuming. Gotta luv it!!Re: Moving to Arizona, What can I expect?Well Phil, you can expect a chorus of Boo's from all your local friends, co-worker's and camping buddies who have known you guy's for many years. OR, maybe those boo's are just some jealousy from all of those whom cannot join you guys. Best of luck on the move, and I would hope we will still see ya "out there" occasionally.Re: Can I dump in the curbside sewer?X3 here in SoCal. Our roadside drains flow directly to the sea. Try it, and a date in the "Greybar Hotel" will likely be in you're future.Re: Concerned about traffic signals with short yellow lightWe have a state route here in SoCal, (highway 86), that intersects Interstate 15 and borders the Salton Sea. The speed limit is 65mph for cars, and 55mph for vehicles that are towing. IF you are towing, and doing the 55mph limit, you Will get run off the road by EVERYBODY! There are 5 signals, spaced about 3 miles apart from each other, and as such allow you to just barely get back up to cruise control speed, and NONE of them have crosswalk signs for reference as to when the light may change. So I look WAAY the HECK in front of me, and try to time my passing through the intersection on a fresh green, as opposed to a green light that has been on longer than a minute. Even so, as I get close to any of those 5 intersections, my left foot is hovering over the brake pedal, and my hand ready to lay on the horn. So far I've been fortunate, but there will be a day of reckoning, that I do not look forward to.Re: Tight nuts Me Again wrote: toolman1 wrote: Having run a front-end and alignment shop for a number of years I have seen this all too many times. The aluminum alloy lug nuts interact with the steel studs that they are threaded on to. Not corrosion, but something similar to electrolysis. I don't care how large of an air impact a person use's those lug nuts will usually destroy the threads of the studs. So a torch might be necessary, but that is usually a last resort. The bottom line will be stud replacement, as well as new lug nuts, and a good coating of "Antiseize Compound" will prevent future problems. Yea, it'll cost ya now, but there isn't any other option. Sorry. What vehicles of which you speak use such lug nuts. I have owned quite a few vehicles in the last 55 years and have never seen that. Chris Do a GM service bulletin search my friend, somewhere in the 1995-2005 decade. Thread corrosion on lug nut threads was a HUGE issue on C,K, and G series vans.Re: Which LED bulb for a porch light?I have used this replacement bulb for both the exterior porch lamp, as well as the bathroom light in our M/H. In the bathroom it works very well, but is not as bright as I would like for the porch.
