One thing I didn't see was the mention of where and how you plan on staying. If you stay at RV Parks and resorts there is no issue with any size rig. If you stay and state, county, fed and private parks you will(I have)found that many places wont/can't accept a rig with a trailer longer than 25 feet. Also the campgrounds seem to forget you have a tow vehicle too. There are a lot of places I can get my trailer and then struggle to get my pickup parked. Sometimes.........I rent two spots, one for the trailer and one for the tow vehicle. All said and done, I like the smaller trailer we have and the short bed(and I'm a long bed kinda-guy)pickup for easy maneuverability. But every now and then we will walk in a longer trailer with a slide, two swivel rockers and a nice big shower......................and think......... Sure the beauty of having it all on the inside along with so much extra storage is nice. For us personally I found we were losing that true camping feeling. We want the choice of premium sites or back in the woods. I want freedom. I weighed the pros and cons for a year, happy with our choice. Enjoy and ty.Re: Outside kitchen. Keeps the camper cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter when the door is not opening up so much. Plus keeps the floors cleaner. My wife will cook bacon and sausage outside as well to keep the grease from splattering everywhere on the inside. On a word of caution, follow the sink drain line really good and see where it goes. Some drain into the black tank, not the gray. Thank you so much, will do for sure.Outside kitchen.Traded in our 2011 32 ft 5th wheel for a couples trailer, 2016 Premier 22rb with outside kitchen. Enjoying this new found freedom with no restrictions. I have not used the outside kitchen as of yet, has bar fridge, sink, 2 burner stove. My question is what do most people use the kitchens for? Full cooking or just snack bar? I already put a toaster oven in it with paper plates and cups. I don’t want to buy unnecessary items, I want to start slowly getting it ready for spring. What is the most popular items to furnish the outside kitchen? Looking for ideas. Thank you in advance.Re: Traded in 5th wheel for couples TT RedRocket204 wrote: 4hapyMcDs wrote: ... can fit in almost anywhere. Time to outfit that new trailer with solar panels, a nice battery bank and really go just about anywhere, e.g boondocking. Congrats on the purchase and enjoy! That is my hopes and dreams. Thank you ??Re: Traded in 5th wheel for couples TT wecamp04 wrote: We're in the process of doing the same thing, kids are grown and we just didn't need all that room.and like you said theirs lots of places we've wanted to go for years that the 5th wheel was just to big. Our children have all grown also. Most of our items fit into the TT minus 2 garbage bags full of items I never used. Enjoy your future rd trips.Traded in 5th wheel for couples TTCurious mind. How many have traded in from a luxury fifth wheel to a couples TT. We made the jump from 32 ft to a 22ft. Was worried at first but feeling happy on choice. I have lost touch with the wilderness. I want more freedom in choice of sites. Our TT still feels luxury, cheaper on fuel, can fit in almost anywhere.Re: What is your favorite feature? fly-boy wrote: Love all of the bells and whistles but no question- the best feature of our rig is all of the memories we are making with our kids! We leave a week from today for a couple weeks in Utah and its awesome when your kids are as excited as you are to take a family trip! This is far the best, it is not what you have or how much you have, it is every memory you make that is priceless. I just lost my mom after a 9 month battle from cancer, I had her home on palliative care. After that battle I will cherish every memory. I already left my message what I liked about ours but when it is put like this made me re-think. If you have family with you either on the side of the Rd, rest area, walmart lot or beautiful campground you already have the most priceless part of camping. If you are in a trailer and truck to tow then the memories are endless...Re: What is your favorite feature? One of our many reasons for purchasing was full use with slides in. Lay out was a key feature. The 2 tone colours on cupboards were a nice look for me, off white top, wood grain lower cabinets.cargo carrier on bumperWe just purchased a bigger generator for our 5th 3000 powerhouse, after getting it home and ready for action we discovered my measurements were a little off and it wont fit in the front storage where we carried our 2000 watt. Now we are torn between keeping it in bed of truck which will cause headaches for use of it or buy a cargo carrier and attaching it to the hitch sleeve we purchased on the pumper of our greystone...Does anyone know if the weight on the 5th wheel bumper will accommodate 125lbs...Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 rondeb wrote: Below are 2 of my favorites Put shelves in 2 of the 3 closets Attached quarter round wood to the sides of the closets with industrial strength velcro and bought the wire shelving Installed a 2 foot counter extension that will hold 200 pounds and is level with the counter. It folds flat against the counter when not in use. love it was trying to figure out a easy way to add a couple shelves, in our 1 closet we use the plastic drawers for DD clothes but in another closet i want shelves for food.
