I tow pretty heavy without the camper, usually around the 26k combined and it does that without issue. With the camper, I find that if I lock out 6th gear I gain about 3mpg and my truck doesn't lug along. Would I run 4.10s if I had them? Absolutely.Re: Metal storage coverI used West Coast. I'd use a tarp before I used them again. They're shady, always a different story why my building wasn't done. It took a little over 4 months to get my building. Best reason I heard was there was a metal shortage in the country so they couldn't get the sheet metal.. I got my building very soon after I called BS on that because I purchase direct from a sheet metal mill who actually has a mill that makes the formed roofing material.Re: Twin tube extension with backup cameraI know as much as I have drug/slammed my extension into the ground on my truck, there is absolutely no way I would want it touching the bottom of my camper in fear of that "one time" where I bend it and wreck the bottom of my camper..Re: Gold Mining!!I caught gold fever a few years ago. Went and bought a 4" dredge, a 2" dredge, and a couple hi bankers, a few pumps, extra equipment basically the whole nine yards, went out a couple times on a nearby creek. I did find a little bit, and I do mean a little bit.. Finding anyone to go with was next to impossible and moving that 4" dredge alone was a fair bit of work and I'm only 27! So I built a crane that hooks on the rear of my jeep that I can lower the dredge off of a bridge or set it up like a zip line. Haven't even got to use it and its been a few years lol. My Fiances family has a 60 acre claim in the Nine Mile Creek area of Montana. We went over there last summer and looked around. Unfortunately the creek is closed to dredging and it's more of a wash plant/excavator show anyway.Re: Host Mammoth TCI've got a cascade, which when I bought mine nobody had what I wanted. I wanted leather upholstery. There was no negotiating that with two yellow lab fur factories. My black counter tops were just an added plus. I ordered the cascade because I was afraid of weight. The moment I put it on the truck and drove away from the Host factory I told my fiance' we should have bought the Everest. But I'm still very happy with my camper even so. The thing that attracts me to the Eagle Cap is I think they use better quality parts in certain aspects. Such as the cargo doors and the once piece fiberglass caps. I'd give up our rear loveseat for two recliners like the adventurer has in a heart beat. Host has improved on floorplan layout imo. Moving the fridge in the cascade model was a good move.Re: TCs with slide(s)?I've got a Host Cascade, no way you could use it with both slides in, but seriously, its so easy to open and close I don't understand why this would even be an issue. Its honestly more of a pain to pull out the steps every time you want to get in than it is to fuss with the slides. You can use the cascade with the rear slide in, no problem.Re: Getting aroundWe almost always have some sort of extra vehicle on a trailer.. but we also have these that we get around both on and off road with.. Re: Metal Carport for CamperDon't buy it from Coast to Coast Carports. They have horrible customer service and from my experience damn near everyone that works for the company is full of bull****.Re: Any Hot Springs in Oregon that are TC friendly?Bagby hot springs out of Estacada has a campground at the trail head. I did a quick drive through one night and I dont think you'd have any problem dropping the camper. Its a small hike to the springs, but we have fun when we go.. Though we try to go when we least expect people to be there.. I've never camped up there we usually just drive the 3 hours each time..Re: Dog friendly scissor step modThat's a good idea. We have built in steps in our camper but we had to cover all the grip holes with traction tape because our female lab was getting her toenails caught in them and ripped off... (ouch)
