Does anyone have this sofa in their rig that can attest to the comfort of the sofa itself, especially with the footrests, and the hideabed part, too. Before I invest $$$ in one, I am trying to find some reviews. Thanks. Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016 GGeorge wrote: I think we all should give Lizzie a big round of applause for keeping us all straight for this 2016 trip. Thank you Lizzie. We are at Glacier NP now about 1 month ahead of the original schedule due to one of us being homesick and missing the grand children. So we had to hurry a little faster, Glacier till next Tuesday then off to Missoula for a week then 3 days of travel east to wherever that lands us. Day or two rest the eastern movement again. I promised we would be home before 22 Sept. So I have 33 days to get back to Ohio. Besides the Buckeyes will be playing football on Saturdays and I gotta watch those games. So thanks again for everyones help, advise, and making the trip worth while. GGeorge Are you staying in the park? We are staying outside of the park until Monday morning.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016We did it and had a grand time. Currently at Glacier NP wrapping up our wonderful trip.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016Left Dawson City this morning and are at Takhini Hot Springs near Whitehorse. We survived the TOW. What an experonce that was. Spent 1 night at Chicken Gold Camp and did the dredge tour. We had lots of mud and rain between Chicken and Dawson. Also had several long stretches of poor visibility after crossing into Canada. Less than 100' in places. Thank goodness for the vehicle wash in Dawson so we could get the mud off. All 3 of us are battling a cold so we didn't do too much at Dawson. Mostly resting although we did do the tour of the #4 Dredge. Passed 2 caravans heading towards Dawson today including an Airstream group.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016We are back in Tok for the night (our back nine). Tomorrow we head for the TOW. Looks like there is a music festival in Dawson when we were planning on being there. Hopefully we can find somewhere to stay since I do not have reservations. From there we head towards Jasper and Banff NPs and then on to Glacier. I hate leaving Alaska. Still so many things I wanted to see.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016 sljohnson1938 wrote: we are currently in Seward, AK. having great time. staying at the city campground. tomorrow heading to Homer, AK. stuart and her - aka = Darlene. Glad to see you are out here. I was worried something had happened. Have fun in Homer. We had a blast there with King and Bernie.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016We just finished up four days at Denali. Wow. Just wow. Saw lots of bears and caribou, but no moose or Dall sheep. Also was not able to see much of the mountain due to cloud cover. Luckily we were able to see it when we drove up from Trapper Creek. I would love to go back for a longer stay but we are in Fairbanks now. If I do go back, I definitely want to stay IN the park. I would love to camp at Teklanika but would settle for Riley Creek. Staying at Riverview RV Park in Fairbanks at the moment. Great wi-fi connection and the park looks decent. Sorry you are unhappy with the place in Homer, GGeorge. We stayed at Heritage RV park out on the spit and enjoyed it, even though it was pricey. Has anyone driven over the Top of the World highway in the last couple of weeks? Looking for road condition updates. Is it feasible to drive from Tok to Dawson in one day without beating up the 5'er? Any recommendations for stopping places? Thanks!Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016We must have passed you on the highway, Lizzie. We arrived at Trapper Creek heading north about an hour ago. You are right! The Mountain view is spectacular today!!Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016We are finishing up a 4 day stay in Homer. Did lots of of sightseeing and boating, including a fishing trip today courtesy of fellow RV.net and truck camper friend, Hook, and his wife Bernie. We will be shipping home almost 40 lbs of halibut. We also went to Seldovia. If you are able to visit there, it is a neat little village. We had some good eagle watching while there. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Having insights from Kenai peninsula locals certainly helped. I would love to come back here again. Tomorrow we head to Whittier so we can go through the Anderson tunnel. Then we head north towards Denali where my sister and brother-in-law are flying in to meet us for a few days. Our 5er is going to get even more crowded. :-)Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016 CountryRoad REV wrote: We are also in Kenny Lake Campground, parked in the woods without hookups. I decided that only electric was not worth it and dumped the tanks and filled with water. The batteries and generator will take take of every need and I will repeat the process as I leave. Not bad for $20 per night. It was nice meeting you. Safe travels wherever you go!!
