You can find these batteries at Costco for about $90 each. These batteries will give you much more battery life than a single 12V battery. You may have to enlarge your battery compartment to be able to handle the two batteries. And I would also replace as many incandescent, florescent, tungsten bulbs as you can with LED bulbs. They use about one tenth the power as an incandescent bulb. You will get much more battery life with the LED bulbs. Hope this helps. Cheers....VinceNew Air ConditionerJust replaced the Fedders Air Conditioner with an 8000 BTU LG in my 2000 Xplorer Van. Fedders wasn't blowing cold air, and the compressor wouldn't start. Rather than try and get it fixed, I just got the new LG for $219 at Walmart.Re: 1989 Dodge Xplorer 4X4Thanks very much for posting the original E-Bay listing. A very interesting van.1989 Dodge Xplorer 4X4I just ran across this ad on Craig's List: http://siouxcity.craigslist.org/rvs/3648362678.html It is for a 1989 Dodge Xplorer 4X4 RV. The owner says it only has 36,000 original miles, and he is asking $2,600. I didn't know that Xplorer made a 4X4 RV. I have a 2000 Xplorer 230 which I absolutely love. The only complaint is the low ground clearance. I would love for my van to be a 4X4. Out of curiosity I sent an email to the owner asking if it was still for sale. Here is his reply: "I'm very sorry for my late reply, my 1989 Dodge Xplorer is still for sale and it is in great condition and runs great. It only has 35,987 miles on it, clean title, loaded with every option possible: cruise control, cab air, tilt wheel, power windows, power locks, power steering, power brakes, sink, 3 way fridge (w/auto selector), hot water heater w/dsi, microwave, 2 burner stove and much more, Vin : 2B6JB3IZ0KK31405, never been wrecked and never smoked in. I had serviced it only at the local dealer. Maintenance records are available. I am selling it because I will soon go on a second tour in Afghanistan (hope for the last time) and I don't want it getting old in my backyard and pay taxes for a rv's i don't use (two reasons to sell it). I will be gone for the next 12 months. The price is low because I need to sell it before we deploy in two weeks to be more precisely! The total price is $2,600.00 with no other hidden taxes. Please email me back if you are interested in buying it. Cpt. Timothy Moore." So my question is, is this too good to be true? If I was any closer to Iowa I would definitely be taking a look.Re: '04 PW Excel TS value? Our neighbors down the street just sold their 2002 Excel with 79,000 for $28,500. They started at $31,000. The van look like it was in perfect condition, but it didn't have a generator.Re: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?Replaced the incadecent bulbs in two airplane reading light type fixtures with LED's, changed out the faucet in the kitchen sink, and bought a 3 inch foam topper for the king bed in the back. Getting ready for our second trip of the year making a loup down through eastern Oregon, south on 395 in CA, then West on highway 50 to the coast, then North on Highway 1/101 back home to Washington. Figuring between two and three weeks.Re: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?Finally got to take our rig (2000 Xplorer XLT) out for a first shake down test. Spent the night at Camano Island State Park in NW WA, about an hour from our home. Temp. got down to about 35, but the furnace, and everything else worked great. That's a relief. Getting ready for a three week cruise down the coast to California. Only disappoint with the rig so far is the mileage. Between 10-11 mpg. But that is all on back roads. Hope to get it up to 12-13 on freeway driving.Re: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?Just finished putting the bedding on the king size bed in the back of the 2000 Xplorer we bought last month. Considering de-winterizing the rig and taking a short shake down cruise to be sure everything works, then a two week trip in January to S. Cal from our home in NW WA.Re: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?We brought out 2000 Xplorer home from the dealer where we just purchased it. Spent the day going through the rig and tried to remember everything they told us about how it works. We're excited to get out on a shake down cruise.
