Going from a tent to a smallish travel trailer will seem like A huge jump... and it is, but you can get used to it in a hurry. We went from a 19ft TT with a small couch slide to a 37ft 5er with four slides. However, Our travel trailer did help us figure out that we really enjoy the RV lifestyle... and that we wanted more space and comfort. My advice would be... buy as big as you can afford. Good luck in your travels.Re: fifth wheel hitchI use a B&W Companion hitch. Works well for us. Trying to get a pic to work... Re: Information:hRe: Advice on Satellite SetupWe've used Dish Network and a Tailgater for over a year (at home and the camper). It's a simple setup and it works well. The Tailgater is a no brainer. Just point it at the southwestern sky and it will find the satellites automatically. We are discontinuing service however, not because of poor service or product but we just don't watch as much tv as we used to. We stream when we can or just watch "antenna tv" or a dvd while camping. Going back to cable at home. Put the free "Satellite AR" app on your phone to get an idea of where the sats are.Re: What do you wax your rig with? ChooChooMan74 wrote: ^^^This worked wonderfully!^^^ Thanks for all the replies! What do you wax your rig with? After waxing about 9 or 10 square feet with paste wax, I'm guessing there has to be a better/easier way? Maybe some of the wipe on - wipe off waxes? Ideally, I'd like something with some sort of cleaner agent in it. I've washed but that doesn't get everything. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks...Re: Dreams do come true...That is one happy camper!! :) Nice Job.I got lucky!!I was pulling into Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park this past Friday. I didn't get there till about 3pm so the campground was already full by the time I got there. There was a truck sitting at the Ranger shack/pavilion. I had to swing wide to get headed down the row I was in and the rear corner of my camper scraped the black rubber trim part of this trucks bumper. Well I get into my spot and here comes the campground host to tell me what I had done. Oh ****, what a start to the long weekend! I didn't even feel anything. I went over and talked to the guy who owned the truck and he showed me where it scraped. Honestly you could barely tell anything happened. The rear corner of my camper had more of a black "scar" than his truck. He was very nice and I, of course, apologized profusely and said I would pay for any damage. We talked for about fifteen minutes and both agreed... no harm, no foul. A magic eraser got rid of the black mark on my camper. I guess God was watching over me because had I turned a foot sooner things could have been much worse. I guess the moral of my story is... All you new/rookie fiver pullers be sure to watch your rear because with the wheels so far forward on most of these rigs, the rear of a long fiver,(mine being 37ft) will swing wide during a tight turn. I learned a valuable lesson at a bargain basement price! EDIT: Really... c- r- a- p- is a bad word!?!?Re: Your Rig rconkin wrote: Setup in camp driveway and now all the fun of loading the stuff we took out of the other one. Nice looking camper there neighbor. We live in Telford! :) Thought your name looked familiar from the Volunteer Campers site. I think that site has kind of died.Re: Your Rig dschamp wrote: That's a very nice rig! Enjoy yourself and happy travels! :B
