So my first pull will be next week. I'm less anxious because I won't be in crazy traffic so I guess that's a good thing.Re: Nervous about pulling my TTWell the dealer couldn't install my hitch tho they said they could. Remember, when you turn right the portion of the TT behind the wheels goes to the left depending on the amount of turn. Be careful of vehicles in the adjacent lane to your left especially in tight right hand turns. Great advice. Thanks. And thank you to everyone who commented.Re: Nervous about pulling my TTI'm hoping the dealer will spend plenty of time with me. Thanks everyone, appreciate the advice.Nervous about pulling my TTI just purchased a 28' TT. Wife and I are beyond excited. It is lightweight and fits our needs. I had it checked out and it's ready to go with new tires. Hitch with weight distribution and sway, good brake controller all installed and ready. Dealer said they will hook up trailer to my hitch and show me how everything works. I'll admit, I'm nervous about pulling it the first time. Will face some traffic in Ft Worth, then about 45 miles of highway travel to get it home. Any comments or advice is most welcome. I feel once I get it home I can practice, but that first time has me a bit anxious. I have little experience with towing, so I'm taking suggestions.Re: Towing without trans cooler? ktosv wrote: Do you have a smart phone? If so, you can get an app such as Torque Pro or I believe it is Dash Command (for iPhones?). You then just need to get a "dongle" to plug into your OBD connector and use your bluetooth on your phone to connect to it. You will hopefully then be able to see the tranny temp plus many other things. I have Torque Pro and think it is a great app, but for what ever reason it actually doesn't allow me to see tranny temp on my van. I can choose probably 100 other things, but not tranny temp. I think I have about $20 invested for the app and dongle. I've heard that about torque. Ended up just purchasing the scan gauge.Re: Towing without trans cooler? So just lock out od and ride. BTW. I believe you will find running in 3RD gear will be a better more pleasing driving experience anyway. Not only does the trans stay cooler, but you have much more throttle response, and the MPG is the same, as the engine is not working / lugging, so hard to stay in OD. My Yukon has a tow/haul button. Use it I assume? But keep in 3rd gear? With the tow/haul I would just let the transmission pick the gear. That is what tow/haul is all about. Ok great. Thank you.Re: Towing without trans cooler? About $150.00 and can save you THOUSANDS on a new transmission. If you see the temp creeping up to 210 plus you should think about stopping and letting the rig cool. If you overheat the tranny some stop the rig and let the truck idle and cool the tranny down. Thanks and please get that poor tranny an extra cooler ASAP. Thanks! Jeremiah Looked at the scan gauge today. Problem is it requires tapping into the pan, something I'm not comfortable with. Is there something I can plug into my OBD port to gather the temp instead? The scan gauge should not require tapping into the pan. It should be an OBD port connection only. May require a x code but that is easy to do. I was wrong. Purchased one today.Re: Towing without trans cooler?Ok I have the following: Z82: trailer provisions, special equipment, H. O. UY7: wiring harness KNP: cooling system trans, HD. (I assume this is the trans cooler). Thanks again for everyone's help.Re: Towing without trans cooler? DougE wrote: See if you have the tow package items RPO Z82, Z85 and/or KNP. Then do a google search to see what they include. Ok great I'm looking into them now. I have Z82 and KNP Thank you.
