The friends, scenery and general relaxation makes it all worth it!Re: Salmon FishingYes, I have fished the Kenia. Yes I have combat fished. No one has helped me here. What does it depend on? I have always flown, so I have never had to come back through Canada. Hence, te reason for my question.Salmon FishingPlanning an Alaska trip with a few Buddies in my motorhome. We are going to the Kenia to fish reds in mid July. My question is how much fish are we going to be able to bring home through Cananda. Oh, I forgot, this will be a round trip from Maine.Re: north thru N.J. Turnpike/ GSP/thru-way...are they the same Devocamper wrote: They are all different , if your 40 foot plus a tow you may want to stay off the garden state parkway it also has low overpasses not sure what the heights are but they are rounded and have the highest clearance in the center lane and also lots of toll stop's on the Garden state , you may want to look into something like the N.J Turnpike (also tolls but at the end when you get off) north then take 287 to 84 over the tapanzee bridge (also a toll)may get you near where your going. If he's going to Newburg NY he doesn't want the Tappanzee. Get on 87 and keep heading north to 84.Re: East Coast gbopp wrote: jergeod wrote: I don't know if you like driving on snow or ice but that time of year Philly and DC might not be places you want to be. Take the advice given and plan that trip for the end of March or April. X2, you don't want to be in the Philadelphia or north east area during Feburary. The weather can be snow or, sunny and cold. Either way, it will be cold. I would wait until April. Just an FYI. I worked in downtown Philly for 2 week in Feb. 2015. I was on night shift. Not one night I was there was it over 0 degrees. Most every night was -20! You may want to rethink your timing.Re: 9 W in New York to 95 southI have only been that route once and that was in a pickup. Personally I don't think it is very motorhome friendly. But that is only my opinion.Re: Damage to RV while in storage by RodentsBuy a box of dryer sheets and use the whole box. Put them in the cupboards. storage bins, etc. No creatures will bother you! ;)Re: Auto leveling jacksPersonally mine are ok to leave down, but, last winter one froze to the ground when I was trying to leave for a trip. I never put mine down without a block of wood or something under it. If you would do this it would not freeze to the ground.Re: Thor/4Winds SerranoWe have a 2012 Seranno 33W. We bought it last October as a 3 year hold over. We took it to FL for 3 weeks on its maiden voyage. We had a few problems but only 1 major. The last day in FL I noticed the front drivers side jack was leak hydraulic fluid. When we got home I took it to the dealer to get our problems repaired. Come to find out the hydraulic leak was an engine oil leak. It was repaired and Thor covered it 100%. We love this Motorhome. It is our first motorhome and I can not believe how easy it is to drive, how well it handles. It rides pretty good, I'm sure not as good as a pusher. Our round trip was close to 4k miles, we used the generator approximately 60 hrs, our fuel usage figured out to 12 mpg. Not bad for a motorhome with only 5000 miles on it total. I hope this helps!Re: hitch mounted bike rackI use an 1-1/4 bike rack and never have had a problem. FWIW
