All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsFleetwood or ThorWe have begun resaching the purchase of a small 25' to 28' class A. We are still a few months away from making the purchase. We are looking closely at these 2 units. Fleetwood Flair 26D and Thor Axis/Vegas 24.1 Hoping to hear pros and cons from onwers of the Flair and Axis/Vegas units. Even if it's a different floor plan. What problems have you had and customer friendly were the manufactures. Thanks in advance for any advice!!Re: Wall Plate BoosterI understand about the high loss cable issues. My Viewfinder is a 26' travel trailer. TV1 is connected to the wall plate with a 2' cable. The antenna is connected to the input of the wall plate with about a 3' cable, at most. The cable input connector on the outside is connected to the wall plate with an estimated 15' of cable and TV2 connector is connected to the wall plate with less than that, may be 10'. I guess my first step is to test the cables and connectors. I'll connect my home Cable System to the cable input at the camper, disconnect the other end at the wall plate and connect it direct to the TV, if it still does not work, then it's the cable or connectors. Do the same with the TV2 by disconnecting the cable in the back of the wall plate and connecting it to TV1 output. Again if it still has problems, it the cable or connector...Re: Wall Plate BoosterI thought about that., in fact my first thought was to run TV1 to a A/B switch with external cable input and then to a splitter acting as TV1 and TV2. I really think this would solve my problem, but I would prefer a cleaner looking installation.Wall Plate BoosterI have a Jensen omni directional antenna and 75 ohm wall plate booster installed on my 2011 Viewfinder. I recently starting having reception problems when I have the TV connected to the outside connector, labeled TV2 behind the wall plate. It still has really good reception when connected directly to the wall plate or TV1. It never really worked on cable to neither TV1 or TV2, but since we rarely camp where cable was offered, that never bothered me.But I do like to place the TV outside, especially for college football. So I'm thinking I have a problem with the wall plate booster and need to replace it. I check around and it seems a lot of campers had problems with the Jensen antenna and many have replaced them. It seems that Jensen has stop making these types of antennas. Because of this, I am unable to find a Jensen replacement part. I found a Wineguard RV-7042 wall plate booster at Amazon. It looks very similar and based on the installation instruction, seems like it would work. Can anyone help with this before I order it, install it and find it is not comparable with the Jensen antenna.Re: bike rack options for a TT / TVI've just installed a receiver hitch to the front of truck. Trouble is finding a bike rack with enough shank to clear the front bumper. I would like not to have to use an extension, since this would not only increase the cost of an extension but also an additional anti rattle hitch pin. Just something to think about before putting a front hitch.Re: Bike rack recommendation for front of tow vehicleFront mounted hitch for my truck is on order. Once installed, I am looking at the platform bike carrier by rage power sports. This way if it's just DW and I, the rack can carry just 2 bikes, but when we have the grand kids,(1/2 the time), add the extension to carry four bikes... But I waiting first to install hitch before making final decision. http://www.ragepowersports.com/bicycle-products/2-2-platform-bike-carrier/Re: Mirror ExtensionsI use K Source snap on. I had 2 other types and found these to be the easiest to install and remove. Also the best performing. When installed, they really look like OEM installed mirrors. Has anyone done this?Re: X-chock vs. Jack StabilizersI have used the X-chocks and found they stopped most of the movement. Also use extra set of scissor jacks in front of front axle. Found the use of these two items have take 98% of all movement. But then it's jus DW and I and we spend most of our time outside....Re: Manufacture Assigned WeightsWell until I hear from manufacture, my plan is to hook up load as we would to go camping. Instead head for the scales, unhook and weight just the tongue, then the entire trailer. This will give me the trailers total weight and the % that is on the tongue. The difference would be the weight on the two axles. If this correct, is the GVWR the total weight including tongue or total weight handled by axles?
