Doesn't matter the time of year or how many days we try to reserve. Their online reservation site always says they don't have any sites available, except for tent sites. I have tried putting in a year in advance, fall, summer, spring doesn't matter. How are people getting reservations? Burch We had to change our dates but we are booked a for right after Thanksgiving for 10 days. DennyRe: Fort WidernessIf you think Fort Wilderness is experience just look at the price of CG around the area plus the cost to park it's not that bad all things considered. DennyRe: 5th wheel quality compared to early 2000’s?I've looked at new 5th wheels and I will take our 15 year old HH any day of the week but to keep one this old on the road it requires maintenance and upgrades. The biggest for outside appearance is removing the decals and painting them on. DennyRe: dish HD Randyl81 wrote: I have a portable direct tv satellite (no HD) that i use now that works great, but i want to switch to Dish for the HD, will I be able to still use the coaxial connection on the outside of my rv that runs to my tv cavity in the living room which i would then connect to the dish wally receiver. Basically will the existing coaxial that runs from the outside connector to the inside still work for me? Thank you all for your time Yes you can use the same connection but you will have to make sure that there are no splitters in the line and all the connections are tight. Unlike some of Direct portables the Dish ones use the coax to power the dish. We just switched from a Tailgater to the Pathway X2 and it's a amazing how well it works compared to the Tailgater, it's little more money but worth it. DennyRe: Question about replacing fridgeIf you are going to install a residential refrigerator in a rv there are a few things you will have to keep in mind. 1st don't use one that uses the case for condenser, it's the type that the case gets warm when running. In most cases there isn't enough free air movement to cool the unit. 2nd If you use one with a external condenser up the back it will need air movement in the summer by keeping the external vents open but in extremely cold weather they will have to be blocked off. 3rd If you use the type that has the condenser under the unit with a blower motor to draw room air into the condenser and exhausts it back into the room just block off both vents. This is the type that is used when you order a rv with a residential frig. DennyRe: Shock absorbers on 5th wheelThe only way to truly check them is remove one end move them in and out and check for resistance. If you have gas charged units you won't see leakage so even on a vehicle you have to remove them to really see if they are really working, if you go that far just replace them. Monroe Gas Magnums work really good on a trailer, that's what I'm using. DennyRe: 2017 F350 6.2 Gasser, 4.30 gears??I'm pulling a 16K 5th wheel with a 6.2 4.30 gears DRW without any problems, it's also spent a lot of time in the high mountains. I used to pull with a 2000 V10 with 4.30 gears and the 6 speed transmission makes it makes better it a better pulling setup over the 2V V10. DennyRe: Wagner rotors and severe duty pads?First you don't need a fluid flush on a 14 truck. Last timed I used Wagner Premium pads they were fading garbage, I replaced them with a carbon metallic pad and all my problems gone. I replaced my front pads on my 13 DRW with NAPA premium fleet pads and so far they are great without replacing or turning the rotors. It appears to be routed to the drivers front corner of the bed and it appears that the driver was turning to the right. I still think it was pulled out and locked the brakes and the hitch collapsed. Thus the tug the driver reported. Chris If that's what happened the hitch should still be able to take that force without failure of any kind, I check my disk brakes all the time by applying the brakes manually and what about a panic stop when the trailer brakes lock. Denny So what is your theory? Hitch appears shiny new! Hitch was not torqued down correctly, allowing the front drivers side to raise up putting pressure on the passenger rear corner when the trailer brakes dynamited when the emergence pin pulled out. Chris No hitch should fail when brake away is activated by accident, if the hitch is that poorly designed to allow the front corner to lift it's nothing I would want in my truck period.
