Newer model - low mileage Tundra were slightly over 30k. I ended up with a late model/low mileage F150, slightly under 30K. Both the half-ton and diesel towed my 30" TT fine.Re: How disappointed will I beI did, got rid of the F250 diesel. I got tired of paying $100.00 to fill up. Went with an F150 to pull my 30' TT. Dose fine in the mountains, better on the flat lands.Re: Yes I did it, 2015 F-150 and 35 foot TTHunterred, you're spot on. I tow a 30' trailer, and yes, in the mountains with a half ton. It does fine. Like you said, stay within the limits of the truck and you'll be fine.Re: High Octane Gas?Cccougar, So many misconceptions. Google octane ratings and fine out what the experts say. Using a higher octane than what your truck calls for is like taking two one-a-days instead of one. It does absolutely no good. Regardless if you're towing or not. Anyone who says different is taking a placebo and letting their imagination get the best of them. You're not going to get better gas mileage or performance.Re: 2WD vs 4WD tow vehicleOkay, what am I missing? Arizona has neither snow nor grass. 2WD will be fine.Re: 2002 Chevy 2500hd 2WDMeasuring from the ground to the center of the fender. It has 275 X 17 tires. Appreciate you checking.2002 Chevy 2500hd 2WDI just purchased a 2002 Chevy 2500hd to tow my 30' - 7,000lb trailer. I have two questions which I need help on. First, does anyone know what the stock height of the truck is, from the fenders? Second, If my trucks lifted (it's 41" at both the front and back) would it make sense to lower it back to the stock height? Will it put additional stress on the transmission and engine?
