I am sure at times I am overloaded per numbers (1,470lbs on the door) but I would be in some half-ton trucks as well. The truck holds the weight well and at no time did I feel unsafe. I've gone fully loaded (notice the rack on top of the truck bed) with 2 adults, 2 kids and a truck bed full of **** to the Adirondacks and highway driving. Zero issues. EDIT: For reference, this combination tows better and more comfortably than my F-250 with a 30BHDS did. Re: Accident with tow vehicle right before big camping trip? guidry wrote: My buddy hit a deer a week before a big family vacation. I loaned him my truck so he could still take his 5th wheel. It’s good to have friends. Exactly. My buddy also smacked a deer in his GMC 1/2 ton only a few days before a big trip. They took my then F-250 to tow their TT for a week long family trip. Only annoying part of the whole thing was driving his wife's Prius for the week. Insurance company probably isn't going to help you out and we are all in this together. I wouldn't think twice of lending my vehicle again to a friend.2019 Apex Nano Slide LeakI have a 2019 Apex Nano 208BHS. The slide appears to be leaking only when closed as under the dinette towards the rear of the slide was considerably wet. There does NOT appear to be the same issue when its closed. When parked, the slide is on the south side, which is typically not the "weather" side of my property and is protected by a barn on the north side. All the seals and gaskets look great and there is nothing out of the ordinary when it's closed or closing. I shined a high powered flashlight around when closed and open trying to see if I could see something and nothing. Roof of the slide and TT all are solid and all of the caulk looks great. I am going to have my wife spray a hose on it and look from the inside to see if I can see something, but wondering if anyone had anything similar happen that it could be something dumb.Re: Best Weight Distribution HitchI love my BlueOx SwayPro. I used it with a 10k TT w a F250 and now on a 5k TT and Canyon. It works fantastic for both sway and weight. Its easy to hook and unhook regardless of earth conditions and I find the turn radius when backing up to be great.Re: Did I ruin my water heater, please help!Side note... This has been the most cordial thread from both sides I have ever seen.Re: Travel trailer recommendationI agree with the Apex line as well. We have an Apex Nano 208BHS and its killer. Definitely checked all our boxes when we downsized from a larger bunkhouse to a smaller one and after two years it's been a gem. I think this one might fit the bill... Apex Ultra-Lite 284BHSSRe: Max length definitionI agree with everyone here. I assume it's bumper to ball and every place is wonky in their definition. I wish some places would tell the slope going in as its great if the trailer will fit but bottoming out is a real possibility. I've done some creative things with 4x4s to get my trailer/truck to not bottom out going into a campsite.Re: Small Trailer Weight suggestionsI highly recommend an Apex Nano. I tow the TT in my signature easily with a 2018 Canyon and there are a few floor plans for all different needs. Edit - I also use a BlueOx Sway-Pro and love it.Re: First barrage with the dealer ssthrd wrote: TomG2 wrote: Gdetrailer wrote: ...snip..... I AM thankful that my parents squashed us all into that little camper. Well said. I suppose a family could go camping in a three bedroom mobile home but I don't see the point. Cousin Richard, his wife, and five kids had as much fun camping in the back of a farm grain truck as any family in a forty foot fifth wheel. If one does not want to know what their kids or doing or vice versa, bigger is necessary. X2 from a family of 13 siblings....... We actually downsized from a large double slide bunkhouse to the trailer in my signature. Family of four and its so much more enjoyable in the smaller unit. More places to go, more family time and more time outside, regardless of the weather. Who doesn't love muddy puddles?!Re: Storing ball hitchI wouldn't think you'd want to do that, but I suppose you could.
