Works great if you don't want any gloss left on the paint.Re: for those of you that have dropped your gas tanksWhat Bill said x2..Remove as much fuel as possible even a couple gallons sloshing around makes a difficult job even more difficult. Another hint,,check your sender before you put the tank back in. Mine reads half a tank when its full.It was such a pain to drop the tank that I just deal with it and know about how many miles on the trip meter its time to fill up.Re: Bigfoot Spotted?Messing around outside of my camper at night is not a good idea.just read my user name.:)Re: Side to side movement when parkedI've found side to side movement is usually in the springs or tires. Radial tires being worse. Had this problem on my old 5ver after putting radials on. Solved it by putting stabalizer jacks just behind the rear wheels to take the weight of the axles. You can experiment by using a couple hydraulic jacks to see if that helps before you go to the trouble of installing the stabalizers.Re: Anyone paint over the brass fixtures? My wife hates brass.we have painted hardware in the house and last 2 RV's.Used Rustoleum hammered metal look.Once in a while we would get a chip or 2,solution? repaint,I would never attempt to paint a shower surround,to much chemical mamby jamby going on in that area.Re: Severe Flooding Denver, Boulder, Lyons, Estes ParkI remember the 76 flood below Estes. If I remember right a dam gave way.Killed alot of folks.Y'all stay safe.Re: Retractable truck bed covers?Another vote for Roll-N-Lock. I work out of my truck and it keeps my tools dry.You can lock it in several spots. One will let you stop it just ahead of the fithwheel. It has an aluminum frame and cover which is covered in vinyl so it looks like a vinyl cover.yes some times it will get ice on it but so will anything flat.Re: Tied down...We always liked to remove a leg as you discribed, sometimes both. I usually used a tent stake and rachet strap. In my opinion if you are straping it down with the legs still fastened you trying to survive to much wind. My policy is, if the wind gets to whipping the awning, shaking the trailer, its time to roll it up.I will admit to being parinoid, after loosing one to a sudden storm while we went out to eat one night,we were only gone an hour.30 min. was all it took. Now if we leave it gets rolled up. We have an electric now which is a whole new ball game.Re: cracked tubLook in you local yellow pages for bath tub repair, fiberglass repair or acrylic repair. I just had a quarter size hole fixed in a tub/shower floor for $125.00 ,alot cheaper than replacing the tub. My Jayco has the tub raised for the plumbing underneath. It appears they put a sheet of 3/4" plywood under it,then a 2x4 leg down to the trailers sub floor.Re: Wow! How prices varyI've noticed that to and my dealer may have explained it. "with realestate its location, location, with RV's its condition, condition." He said he has seen 1 yr old RV's he wouldn't trade for because the owners just trashed them. I saw an 84 model a while back that looked near new,it had always been kept inside and properly repaired when needed.
