Might be ok with the 1/2 ton in NC, but I am 100% concerned if you come out to the Rockies that it's going to be trouble, for your safety, and ours. I would consider a truck upgrade. I see half tons on the side of Ashton Pass all the time, and on quite a few occasions they have caused others towing up to have accidents, because there is just not enough room.
