I haven't looked lately because this is exactly what I was afraid I would hear. I feel that I had gotten to know Spotacis and Alexander, and will miss the stories about both of them. RalphRe: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator Thread Rygar wrote: Okay, now that raises another question. What's the difference between a generator and an inverter? Basically, the difference between a "generator" and and "inverter generator" is in the way they give you the AC. The "generator" directly creates the AC voltage and frequency. The frequency is based on the rpm's of the generator, and the voltage is produced directly from the generator. The motor runs at a constant speed. The "inverter" creates a dc voltage from the actual generator that is fed into an inverter that converts it to AC at a specified voltage. Think of it as taking a battery powered inverter and hooking it up to an automotive generator. And yes, this is a very simplistic explanation.Re: HR Presidential SuitesWe also had one and loved it. I lived in it while I was working remotely. Check the slide out floors, though. We had to replace the bedroom slide floor. I was able to do it, but it was a job. It was water damage from water penetrating the seal between the wall and the floor.Re: Deka Intimidator Batteries?Parallel battery current equalization Take a look at the above link. By "bad JuJu", when multiple batteries are wired in parallel and high current is drawn or high charging current is used, there can be issues with unequal current drain/charge to one or more of the batteries, leading to shorter battery life and less "run time" than might be expected. The web site above does a decent job of explaining how to connect multiple batteries in parallel while minimizing the unbalance charge/discharge. I was 10 minutes later than the previous poster - same web site :BRe: Please Help I'D 5th wheel with weird pinsThe best bet might be to contact these folks. You should be able to find some product ID info on the hitch you've got. Husky Towing Products ContactRe: Windows 10 - Anniversary Edition? eichacsj wrote: All of these complaints are configurable. Google is your friend if you want to find out how to make behind the scenes configurations Google it. Also if you like Win 7 look, configure it for that look. The only thing you can't do is get rid of the new start button and Bing, but you can make the rest of it look like Win 7, I did. Good luck with your configurations. I'm using a product called "Start 10" by Startdock Software. It will give you a start button menu very much like windows 7.Re: Disc BrakesAs I told one dealer - saying that disks are N/A on a fifth is a deal breaker for me - My current rig has them, I'll never go back to drum brakes.Re: RV InsuranceI have Progressive, through USAA. AFIK, USAA uses Progressive for it's true RV insurance.Re: Generator suggestions(I'm going to go out on a limb here and make a suggestion to the OP - if you are having a home built, why not go ahead and have an emergency power generator sized for your home installed early, and have it wired temporarily to run your RV? If you are stating that you are having power failure now, they won't stop just because you are now living in your new home :)) - missed one of the earlier posts that made this suggestion as well - should read everything before I chime in :o.Re: Diesel heating in a fifth wheelIf you did experience a catastrophic heater failure, RV's are set up to (fairly) easily and quickly winterize the water lines. If you would have the availability of an air compressor, it's not too difficult to blow out the water lines to prevent the water line freeze up. Empty the water heater and water tank (if full) and leave. After the heater has been fixed, just hook up to the water and you are good to go.
