All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRoadside assistanceOur Good Sam Roadside is up for renewal in August. We've used it in the past, mostly for lockouts. Don't use their trip planning because we don't plan, hop in the RV and see where we end up. While reviewing our insurance policy (Geico)for the RV and auto, we have roadside assistance with them for about $30/year for both. Similar coverages. Good Sam being $113/year for both. I see no need to pay for double coverage. My big question - has anybody used Geico Roadside and what did you think of their service? I have a 24' 2014 Itasca Viva that is on the 3500 Promaster chassis. 12,000 toadless miles in a year. Don't think the View would be much different. Congrats, BTW.Re: Lance 1575 TT My Roadtrek wrote: The 1575 is a good trailer for what it's designed for, 1 to 2 people traveling in moderate climates. For me the 1685 was a better fit. and I wanted the 4 Season package, which is not offered for the 1575. Two people and a dog. They are Florida residents and travel to the northern climates June-September. So probably only need a 2 Season package. Hot & Hotter. LOL. They are limited on the weight, so the 1575 is their choice. Thanks for all of the replies. I will pass the info on to them.Re: Lance 1575 TT BubbaChris wrote: I really like the Lance TT's, and almost bought one a year ago. One of the things I didn't like was the step-up into the slid-out dinette. I recently looked at the current-models and do not like where they've gone with the windows. The ones I looked at were all poly-carbonate and have warning stickers all over them about how careful you need to be while cleaning them (to avoid scratches). Plus I was challenged by the opening mechanism and how the blinds worked (maybe I was having a bad day). That 1575 is probably very bright inside for a very small TT. Watching TV isn't a big priority to us, but would want to consider if you can even see it from the dinette. That is one thing that caught their attention was how bright it was inside compared to the Winnebago. I tried the latches on the windows and was not impressed by the quality. Could see those breaking off. We fumbled around with one of the blinds also. The slide-out definitely makes the inside of a small TT seem bigger. They didn't seem to mind the step-up dinette as there was storage underneath. Anybody have a low retail price to offer the dealer? Thanks again.Lance 1575 TTMy inlaws are thinking about buying a Lance TT http://www.lancecamper.com/travel-trailers/1575/. They've looked at Winnebago and several others. Haven't talked numbers yet with any salespeople. This model retails for $30k. I know Lance has built truck campers forever. I saw a few negative comments (as with most RVs). So, if anybody can enlighten me, I'll pass the info along. ThanksItasca Viva road tripWe just completed a 6000 mile, 2 1/2 month road trip with our '14 Viva 23B. We drove highways, interstates, back roads, high roads and low roads. Drove through 17 states and countless small cities. Spent time on the shores of Lake Superior and Lake Michigan.Drove parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Meandered on some roads that followed the Mighty Mississippi. The Viva performed well on all roads and got about 14 mpg combined driving. We drove, slept and ate in the Viva all 6000 miles. There are some warranty issues that will have to be dealt with. How does a toilet paper holder fall off the wall? The bathroom door skin de-laminated, some issues with the loft bed motor and the refer doesn't switch over to alternate power on it's own. Minor issues as far as I'm concerned. Didn't impact our trip in the least. This isn't a sales pitch for the Viva. We've had two Class A's and another 'C'. But this has been the best rig so far for our needs. It's been the easiest, less worrisome RV to drive. IMHO.Re: Viva-Trend Yahoo groupWe've had some good discussions so far.
