We were testing out everything and going over all the buttons and systems in the trailer. We go to bed for the night and about a 30 minutes later I hear a loud bang. I wake my husband up to go and investigate. He gets up and looks outside the door, and right there by the door is a raccoon wrestling with our garbage bag that (unbeknownst to me) my husband hung on the handle by the door. He goes outside the door as the coon jumps out of the way of the door however still has his paws in our garbage bag. My husband then gets into a tug a war match with the coon fighting over the garbage bag. Through all this I'm still in bed and don't really hear much of anything. About 7 minutes later my husband comes in and says didn't you hear me, I was saying help help as I was fighting with a raccoon over our garbage. I tied the garbage bag outside on the handle. I was astonished as I didn't know why my husband (who hasn't camped much at all) would tie our garbage to the handle outside the door. He said he did get our garbage bag back. The next morning when I get up the garbage bag was sitting on the floor with scratch marks and tears all over it. I peak outside and there is a trail of garbage scraps going off into the bushes. I'll never forget it. I know my husband learned his lesson. (What a crazy mess,) I always laugh at it to this day.Re: If you could get a new one today..... Terryallan wrote: Not really concerned with the brand. But I would like a 26' with front bedroom, A sofa, a dinnet, Bath in the center with a step in shower no tub, a cabinet with a L shape, and sewer, and grey tank connection NOT under the slide. I think it is so stupid to put the dump valves, and hookup under the slide. Can't get to them. This too describes my RV to a tee. I have a Komfort Trailblazer 26ft. and love it. Its not a newer one but a 2010. I have nothing to complain about it. My heart went pitter patter when I first saw it. Ever since then it was a match for us. If I were you, I would check out used ones as well. Mine was 2 years old before I bought it. It was the best deal yet. Look around and get exactly what you want. Its out there, you just have to find it.Re: How many of you travel alone with a TT?I have gone solo several times. My husband is just not the camper type so I usually end up camping with a group once I get to my location, however setup and take down is me, myself and I. My dogs look on with support.:BRe: RV ShowI usually go every year to the Seattle RV show. It's a big one. I love the seminars they have. I actually went 2 days just to hear all the seminars. Also this year I did enter to win a prize at one of the booths, and I won. A totally surprise to me and my 1st time winning. The prize was worth $1,500. I will definitely be attending next year.Re: Cape Disappointment, WAAs you have heard Cape Disappointment really doesn't have Ocean View sites however if you do want ocean view sites check out Pacific Beach State Park. You are pretty much on the ocean and the view is directly in front of you. Just exhilarating and beautiful.Re: Stuff to do while camping. When I camp, I do canvas painting, trail walking, beach combing, reading, campfire, cooking, swimming, checking in the tourist sites around town. Depending if there is a small lake I bring an inflatable boat and sometimes fish from it, sometimes just paddle and take pictures. Talk with neighbors, go on dog walks, arts and crafts with beads, check out other sites and make notations in my camp book as to what I like and don't like about them, bike riding, take naps, and also see if the park I'm in has any activites going on. I usually camp in state parks and on the weekends there is usually some sort of activity planned about nature or a video that will be playing. I also camp with friends and also camp with a dog group that I met on line. We all have pembroke welch corgi's so we plan quite a few activities. I met them on meetup.com. Lots of good fun camping people. I camp to get away from the reality of work and the world and to relax and enjoy my surroundings. One last thing enjoying a nice glass of wine.Re: How long did it take you to decide on a TTIt took us about 2 years. We had a Coleman popup that we really liked and camped in it for 5 years. We were looking and investigating as I really wanted a hard TT. My neighbor purchased a new 2010 Komfort Trailblazer in 2011. I loved the layout of it. In 2012 my neighbor passed away and his wife was selling it. We looked at it but she was selling it a little more than what I wanted to pay. I was disappointed, however I did more research and found online, a trailer that had everything I was looking for. My heart actually was going pitter patter. I told my husband about it and 2 days later we put a down payment on it. It came home a week later. I go to RV shows all the time but nothing comes close to mine.Re: Things that go Crash in the night! (Or day). Share yours? Our first camping trip with our trailer I'll never forget. My husband,(who doesn't really camp much) tied our garbage to the handrail outside the door. I warned him before not to ever do that. Well you can only warn. I guess he had to learn on his own because after going to bed no more than 30 minutes later we hear this loud "bam, bam" going on outside. I turn to my hubby and say what was that, you need to go check. He gets up and opens the door and outside is a raccoon hanging on to the garbage bag trying to scratch the contents out. My husband tries to scare him away with a flash light (which of course doesn't work) and then had to use the broom. Relectantly the raccoon goes off to the bushes with a trail of garbage behind him. My husband brings in the garbage bag which is torn up with scratched holes and tears throughout. He said, didn't you hear me calling you, I was being attacked by a raccoon. I laughed for days. I told him thats why you never set the garbage outside. I'm pretty sure he's learned his lesson. It's a story we'll never forgot.Re: What LED bulb are you using?I replaced my RV bulbs with the same type you have which is a 921 or 906 equivelent LED Bulb. Be sure to check you lumens if you want a bright bulb. I went with the 13-5050 SMD type warm white bulb. The 13 refers to how many SMD's are on the bulb. The 5050 is the size of the SMD's on the led bulb. Led bulbs come in all type of colors but warm white best resembles the original bulbs the come in trailers. The 13-5050 wedge type led bulb is about 180 to 210 in lumens. Very bright and almost close to your original RV bulb. Its good to read by as well. You can get these on Ebay for about $2.00 a piece. I highly recommend them. At this price you can always get extras.Re: Laundry chute in a TTMy trailer actually has two of them in the same spot. We only use one side for the dirty hamper and love it. The other side we store chairs underneath it. It's a great feature to have.
