I did install a set of airlift air bags for the next trip.Re: Dodge Ram 2500 vs 3500...and SRW vs DRWAfter owning two Dodge Diesel trucks , one, 02 2500 4x4 Quad Cab 5.9L 24V AT and one 08 Dodge 3500 4x4 Mega Cab with the 6.7L 6 speed Ainsin Auto Trans. The 02 was troublesome, well know Injection pump issues $2300 and well known weak 4 speed auto overdrive tranny, $4500 billet rebuild. Once that was all done it was a great tow vehicle. My 08 Mega Cab SRW with the 6.7L , exhaust brake and 6 speed AT was by far my best Tow vehicle ! Very reliable, awesome power , stability and smoothness. I also owned a 01 Ford 7.3L Diesel which was a very good tow vehicel and definatey an upgrade from my 1998 GMC 2500 7.4L SuburbanRe: Nissan Pathfinder - Tow cap?Nissan makes 7 pin trailer plug kits for the Pathfinder OEM plug and play, relay will also be needed. I have a 2008 and just installed the kit. far better than the aftermarket kits . I also purchased a Reese brake controller with the Nissan harness, also plug and play ( plug located under knee panel below steering column . The newer Pathfinders have for ratings of 5000 lbs properly equipped, so don't listen to the salesman. The older ones like my 08 V8 has 7000 lb tow capacity and 700 lb Tongue weight. The Older V6 models had 6000 lb and 600 lb tongue weight capacity. I also installed a set of air lift air bags and would suggest the sameRe: Nissan Pathfinder V8 and Toy HaulerMy door jam sticker say 1186 lbs for the payload, so I am going to be re-evaluating the size of the TH definately downsizing :( maybe this one Crossroads AltitudeRe: Nissan Pathfinder V8 and Toy HaulerAfter a little more research I found on the Edmunds site the pay load specs for my 08 V8 Pathfinder is 1480 lbs, lot more than I would have thought, some 1/2 ton pick-ups don't have pay loads this highRe: 53k list price on a Ram what should I pay?I purchased my Last Brand New Dodge back in 07 at Dave Smith in Kellogg, ID. BEST PRICE in THE US! and a Huge Selection. My 3500 CTD Mega Cab had a $57K sticker and I paid $41,700 out the door, no trade. You may want to see what they have , well worth the flight, time, for the savings. If not use their quote to get a better price locally if you can?Re: Looking for Toy Hauler Suggestions atwowheelguy wrote: Nascar24 wrote: Recently downsized from a Dodge Diesel and a 33' TH to A SUV , Nissan Pathfinder V8. Now I'm beginning to search for a TH to be towed by the Pathfinder. The tow capacity is 7000lbs, I have been leaning towards the Forest River Grey Wolf 22RR . I like the walk around with the corner shower , just wondering if it would be too much for the SUV? Any other suggestions would be helpful .I have one Harley that weights approx 650 lbs and two adults who pack light :) Thanks in advance for your replies The catalog UVW of the 22RR is 4871#. I have a similar sized unit that had a catalog weight of 4710#. It came with a weight sticker of 5025# as built. Loaded for camping with 500# of motorcycles (two dual sports), but NO WATER, it weighs 6740# with 780# tongue weight. Extrapolating that to the 22RR, it would weigh 7050# with your bike with a tongue weight of 820#. If the Pathfinder is OK for that tongue weight, you are good to go. What is the payload on the Pathfinder? I am towing a similar sized camper with a truck rated to tow 9800#. The shower in my camper is the only shortcoming. It is tiny and has a curtain instead of a glass door. I am always rubbing against the curtain. The 22RR looks good. According to Edmunds Spec page on the 5.6L V8 Pathfinder it has a 1480lb Payload, which I figure is pretty good for an SUV :) What I like about the 22R is the walk around queen bed up front and the Jack and Jill bathroom and glass corner shower, I haven't seen any other TH's under 5000lbs with the same floor planRe: Nissan Pathfinder V8 and Toy Hauleri will more than likely install air bags and go with an equalizer brand hitch. i have a Harley that weighs in at 650lbs. I will be staying at full hook up campgrounds so won't be hauling, water, or firewood, rarely ever hauled with any of my tanks full or partially full for that matter. Like i said this is not my first towing experience, on my 6th travel trailer and I have towed with a few SUV's in the past with reasonably good experiences. I'm figuring the Pathfinder will allow me to have the ability to tow a 5000lb trailer with 1500lbs of gear plus a passenger or two in the car. Total unloaded trailer weight on the Grey Wolf 22RR is 4871lbs and the tounge weight is 686lbs so I believe it is within the Pathfinders capacity.Looking for Toy Hauler SuggestionsRecently downsized from a Dodge Diesel and a 33' TH to A SUV , Nissan Pathfinder V8.
