We love our trailer and the floor plan and have no problem replacing the bunk door, have a few ideas to try to help with the water leaking issues that it (and most others) have. We talked about upgrading to a power awning instead of just replacing the fabric. During this discussion I looked up the new 21SS floor plan and also considered trading ours for the same trailer and was wondering if the new door design and latch system is better and taken care of the water intrusion issue on the front bunk. Thanks in advance for any replies from Roo or Shamrock owners.Re: Cracked skylight and water leakI went back up the next day, and with the cool damp weather the silicone didn’t set well. Window and door was all I had. I ended up trapping that part of the roof since it was going to start another 3 day stretch of rain. Went out today after work and all the wood is dried and not soft. Hopefully I caught it in time and caught it early. Ordering a new skylight tonight.Re: Cracked skylight and water leakI did get up to the roof, cleaned and caulked the cracks, left the inner cover off. I was planning on resealing the roof this spring, so replacing the skylight at the same time would be nothing to do. I may let it dry out, see what it looks like. I did ask my insurance when I filed the claim on house and car and was told if anything came up I had 1 year from the storm to file a claim.Cracked skylight and water leakBack in November we had a pretty good hail storm, had damage to my siding, as well as my wife’s and my daughters car. Checked out my camper pretty good, but apparently not good enough. I got a crack on the rim of my skylight, one across the very edge of a corner, another in the middle. I noticed it today when I went out so check on it as I usually do a few times during the winter. We have had a lot of rain the past 3 days and when I got to the bathroom I found a small puddle in the bathtub. I removed the inner cover, looks like the interior roof wood is pretty wet, but not soft. The upper roof wood has a few spots that are damp but not soaked. My main question is what should I do first, call the insurance and start a claim or talk to the dealers service department? Thanks in advance for any helpRe: 2017 ford super duty trucksI've considered when we get a 5th wheel to reverse level my 2017, remove the 2 1/2 rear block and put a 1" rear block in to bring it down to the height of the front and help accommodate a 5th wheel.Re: Towing with my new 2017 F250 CC gasser TexBohunk wrote: colliehauler wrote: How do you like the new transmission Torqshift G? Shifts smoother than the 5spd Torqshift in the 2010 I had. I like the added feature of being able to "lockout" gears. Instrument cluster also indicates what gear your in. Has a manual shift control, but I don't think I will get much use from it. In june I had the recall for the "G" done. I usually lockout 6th in mine, every little incline seems to prompt a downshift. Have noticed when running empty on the highway I drop the truck in manual and leave it in 6th gear all the time, seems to stop the constant dropping to 5th gear on hills when it isn't needed and adds a little fuel mileage as well. Just don't forget to go back to automatic when you get off the highway. Lol.Re: Price of a new F250 Ford ? Good or bad? When I picked up mine I ended up out the door including 4K trade at $41,900 for a lariat. Got pre approved for the loan before I went, and checked the build date and mileage when I test drove. The truck I bought was built in September 2016 and had 3 miles on it when I drove it. Was able to negotiate a little more off due to all of those factors I told them to come down from 43,000 to 41,500 and I would be back within the hour with a check as I was pre approved, when the salesman started to protest I said that they had had this truck for 5-6 months and no one had even test driven it due to it only having 3 miles on it and asked how much interest people really had in an extended cab long bed truck (which was exactly what I wanted). His response was not that much and he would be right back, came back and was able to get down to 41,900 out the door which I accepted. (Would have honestly accepted at 42,500 but it worked out in my favor this time).Re: New TV 2012Coleman wrote: Wow - nice truck! I honestly didn't know you could still get a supercab. I have only seen the crew cabs around here. Is there enough room in the back for one child? Do Chevy or dodge have a similar cab configuration? That third picture you posted - camping in the snow, is awesome! Little tight for my daughter that's 25, preteens would be fine.Re: New TV IdaD wrote: Absent the kids I'd have a super cab. Great looking rig. Now you need a bigger trailer. Yeah, my daughter is grown and since we bought our SHO last year we have a sedan to go out in if people go with us. DW and I will take my nieces and nephews (4) camping during the summer once so I had to find the flip down console seat combo for the front (which I prefer anyway) to take them. Super cab will suffice for a once a year trip with them and the extra storage the rest of the time.
