Congratulations and enjoy that scotch!Re: Add a bunk? Not sure how practical this would be or if it would even work but I always thought it was very cool. If RV manufactures offered this as a sofa option, I'm sure there would be many parents and grandparents that would consider it. Is that temperature reading for the grey or black tank, or the batteries? This particular SeeLevel version comes with a temperature sensor. You can use it for external temp readings or for wet bay temp. I chose the wet bay temp since we camp year round, i like to know how cold it's getting in the wet bay. The battery reading is letting you know battery state of charge.Re: Seelevel sensors DSDP Don wrote: Jim......when I had my 2005 Monaco, I added a sensor system, (forgot the brand name and the company later discontinued making the unit) that used the same strip type sensors. The system would read the water, battery and propane perfectly, but was finicky when reading black and grey. I called the company and they said they had issues with the sensors reading Monaco tanks due to their thickness. I never got them to read perfectly, but it helped when I placed some dense foam between the sensor and compartment wall, putting pressure on the sensor. It might be worth a try. I loved that sensor unit because it had a digital display screen that showed all of the tanks at the same time in percentages, in increments of 5.......100, 95, 90, etc. It also showed the battery numbers too. Don, this is my new SeeLevel install. It looks similar to what you had in your Monaco. Re: Adding a rod holder to the basementOn my last motorhome I mounted a rod holder in the basement. Honestly, it was a real pain getting the rods in and out. Each end had to be pushed into the holder while I had to squeeze into the basement to do it. On my new motorhome, I could find nowhere to mount holders, so after some research, I found these. Stickjacket I put these on our 6 rods and can lay them in a small compartment on the floor. They work really well and solved my rod storage problem. They may not be what you're looking for but it's an alternative for you.Re: Adding solarI've heard AM Solar in Oregon is good also. If you're in the San Fran Bay Area, I had my Phaeton done at Avalon RV in Benicia. Adam Blair does excellent work. Don't let all the Airstreams on his website scare you away. He refurbishes them but also specializes in solar. He was listed on AM Solar's site as an installer. Avalon RVBlue Ox Avail Tow BarHas anyone tried the new tow bar by Blue Ox? It's called the Avail. Blue Ox Avail I like the features it offers but am looking for reviews from anyone that has a few miles towing with one.
