Ran the gen until it stopped and then checked voltage going to the fuel pump - 12.3v. Bad fuel pump. Replaced with an airtex unit and it has been running under load for about an hour now. I had replaced the fuel pump previously with an off brand from Amazon. It only had about 10 hrs on it before it failed. I hope the Airtex is a better unit. Thanks all for the input and help! DougRe: Onan 4000 MicroQuiet Runs then surges and stopsThanks for the test suggestion - I will try that next weekend when I bring it home again.Re: Onan 4000 MicroQuiet Runs then surges and stopsLooking further into this - I think my nice new fuel pump (Onan part) does not pump after about 3-5 minutes. When I let the motor run until it stops and then manually press the Stop/Prime button - no fuel pump activity can be heard. Wait 5-10 minutes and it pumps just fine. Also, it pumps hard to fill the float bowl and then gets quieter as it stops moving the piston inside the pump. Who make a pump for these that will live and continue to work? Temp on the pump only goes up a few degrees in 5 minutes run time - no way should it be seizing up due to heat. Anyone else had this issue?Onan 4000 MicroQuiet Runs then surges and stopsHi, I have been having issues with my generator - it will not keep running - Load or No-Load. It shows Fault Code #36 after it surges and stops. Only runs about 3-5 minutes before stopping. Recent services: New Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter (less than 1 year old) New Air Cleaner New Carburetor (installed today) Fuel level is OK and it runs fine and fuel pump is working and verified. What is left that can cause this issue? When it runs - it runs flat and smooth until about 3-5 minutes and it starts surging and the throttle starts opening and closing while it tries to run. I had this issue when I bought this coach but it went away after replacing the fuel pump - for a while... Fuel pump probably has 20-30 hours on it at most. What other items contribute to this problem which seems to be pretty common with this genset. Onan #4KYFA26100K Spec K is the model number of my generator. Thanks for any assistance as this is puzzling me...Re: Body repair - side wall? Thanks for your input. Did you ever have them do body repairs? Best Regards, DougBody repair - side wall?Hi, On my 2003 Jamboree 31W GT, there is a poorly done repair where it looks like the previous owner snagged and tore out the lower rear mount for the awning. I had a new awning installed but the wood in the wall is soft in that area. Possibly from water as the repair that was done is cracking. I can have a longer awning installed to get a better mount further back but will still need the fiberglass panel repaired. Can you recommend a So Cal shop that is competent for this type of work? We like the coach, interior is pretty good and suits us, and the miles are low and everything works well. I would like to repair it properly if possible and enjoy the rest of its service life. Thanks in advance for your input! DougRe: TomTom GPS - no Satellite found?I will try my Garmin Hand Held next time out to see if it has the same response. Thanks for the suggestion. I just looked online and found there is a GPS-Quick_fix to download as well. Model correction - TomTom GO Live 2435Re: TomTom GPS - no Satellite found? We updated it the week before we left. We never had a problem with this unit before in the car, but this was the first time we used it in the RV. Ours is also a TomTom GO edition - tag on unit says Model 4CQ01.TomTom GPS - no Satellite found?Hi, We just returned from a wonderful trip to Anza Borrego. We towed the jeep and went out every day and saw major wildflowers - better than I have experienced before. Just Awesome.... Problem - my GPS (TomTom) seemed to be blocked no matter where I put it. It sometimes got reception for a short time and would lose it quickly. Tried all over the windshield and even the side windows too. Does the Overhead area really block out all reception? I thought it might be clouds on the way out, but it was clear on the return with the same problem. Is there a way to improve reception (tin foil hats or something?) Do others have this problem? Thanks! DougRe: Window Replacement - looking for source or adviceWalts is now Star Deck. They are in Corona CA. They do have a bunch of surplus stuff - I have bought a lot there. I also had them remove the carpet from my coach and put in sheet linoleum - I like it much better now... They did a good job for reasonable...
