It is going to repair shop this weekend.slideout motor runs but no slideOk, this happened once before. The motor runs but won't push the slide out. The dealership suggested removing the switch and switching the wires. Well, that sounded stupid, but I took a look. The wires are in a harness, so that is a big nope. I wasn't given a tool to hand crank so does anyone have a suggestion on what I can do to get it working?Re: water heaterTypically, you will have a switch with your master switches that says electric. That is where mine is on my Laredo. You will also have an on/off switch inside the outside cover of the water heater. This switch has to be on before you turn on the inside switch.Re: The elusive 10 mpg.I have a 2007 GMC Sierra, new body style, with the 6.0 Vortec Max 4:10 gears, heavy duty springs. In daily driving I average about 10 mpg. Cruising down the interstate, about 70 mph, I can squeeze 15/16. With a wicked tail wind, 17 mpg. When I am towing, Laredo 291TG about 8200 fully loaded, I average 8 mpg. I did have a 2002 Avalanche that I used to tow this camper with and averaged about 10 mpg. But it struggled a little bit especially with the bigger hills. this GMC just goes strong."Jack" digital antennaHas anyone installed one of these digital replacement antennas: http://tweetys.com/jack-digital-hdtv-antenna-w-built-in-signal-meter.aspx I like the idea it doesn't have to be cranked up and has its own built in amp and signal locator.Re: Gutter Spouts with ExtensionsI have found that clothes pins make a very cheap useful gutter extensions. They rarely ever blow off going down the highway. Might be a little "redneck" but it works.Re: Jayco Quality concernsI would walk away from the camper and dealer. They weren't willing to look for the issue. just blame you.Re: Anyone had this condition before?and where did you purchase it at?Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 Pitapony wrote: I've been looking for a fishing rod holder for some time. We tried the PVC pipes attached to the back wall of the basement and it's really pretty good but you have to detach the reels all the time. I like your idea. Do the rods just lie on the chain or do you use S-hooks to attach them to the chain? Picture, please? I have a picture but it is from my phone is not very good. It is raining now or I would take a better one. I just slip the tip through the far chain and stick the end of the pole through the other loop of the chain. The reels are on and just hang down. It is similar in concept to the actual pole holders in the other post. I had those in my other camper. This was a quick fix on a Sunday evening with materials on hand. Total cost....20 cents for the screws.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Just finished a fishing pole mod. I used two sections of light weight chain (like on a storm door) and screwed them to the top of my storage compartment on each end. now the rods hang from the ceiling and are not being smashed by all the other stuff. This isn't really a mod, but I always hated having the roasting forks and pie irons just laying around in the storage comparment. Couldn't find a storage tote that was long enough. Then I was at Farm and Fleet one day and found a cheap ($10-15) rifle case. It is a perfect fit for the roasting forks and pie irons. Not to mention it gets people wondering what you are up to when you pull it out by the campfire :)
