slideout motor runs but no slide

Ok, this happened once before. The motor runs but won't push the slide out. The dealership suggested removing the switch and switching the wires. Well, that sounded stupid, but I took a look. The wires are in a harness, so that is a big nope. I wasn't given a tool to hand crank so does anyone have a suggestion on what I can do to get it working?

  • Shear pins/bolts are "un-sheared". Have tried adjusting "bell stop". NOthing. It is going to repair shop this weekend.
  • ALKO RBW sells its SS clevis pins online if that's the drive you have:

Not having a spare, I just replaced mine with a regular bolt (Grade2-3?), and it hasn't busted yet.

When you operate the slide, try not to jerk it by stopping and starting repeatedly. That's what wears out the pins. Just run it all the way in or out until it stops of its own accord. Then release the button.

Since you hear the motor running it's obvious the switch is fine so the next thing I would look at is the so-called "Shear pins". They are simply 1/4" x 2" grade 8 bolts that go through a square tube that located under your slide and runs the length of it. There will be one at each end.

This is what I would suspect However DONT USE GRADE 8 USE GRADE 2 BOLTS that is shear grade they should be silver dont use gold or black unless it says shear grade.
  • My Heartland trailer has a seperate hydrolic pump that I can operate with a hand rod to get the slide out manually.
