The propane and battery systems in your RV will operate everything except the microwave and AC unit. Eventually, of course, batteries need to be recharged but your tow vehicle will do that if your traveling around frequently. If you intend to stay in one place for a long time a solar system is another option for recharging batteries. In fact, with a large enough battery bank and an inverter you could even run your microwave and other appliances without a generator. If you want a quick, easy way to operate high powered AC appliances then a gen. is probably a good idea. If you want to operate the air conditioner when you have no hook-up it's a requirement. Otherwise, it's a good way to make noise, use gas, and cost money. That's kind of what I thought. Full hook up why take them. Went to a park a month ago with my wife a couple hundred miles from home and didn't take the Honda's. Well a storm went through and we had not power for over 24 hours. I ended up a Lowes buying a generator I didn't need. By the time I returned with it the power had come on so I returned it. Told the wife from now on it doesn't matter we are taking them along. May not need them but you never know.Re: Generators for 5th wheel power Bionic Man wrote: I think a parallel kit and two 2000 (red or blue) generators is preferable. Plenty of power to do what you want to do, and easy for one person to move. I agreeRe: Does generator brand make a difference?I have no problems running the 15k A/C with two Honda's. I cannot have the water heater on electric while running the A/C or the wife's hair dryer. I run them in Eco setting and have no problem when the A/C kicks on.Re: water leak (tedlar tape)What do you use to clean after getting the old tape off?water leak (tedlar tape)This week we were out and had a couple of bad storms. One of the slide was leaking and coming into some cabinets. I checked and it appears it is leaking where the tape meets the outside of the slide. The dealer said to use TEDLAR Tape. Has anyone done this. He said to remove the old tape and put new on. I am concerned with getting it loose from the roofing. Any tips?? Any better product to use??Cooper AT3 Tiresis anyone using Cooper AT3 tires on their tow vehicle. I need 275/70r18s E Rated and the local guy recommended this tire.
