Re: Atwood Furnace Problems
So I’m having the same problem as the OP was having... I have replaced the circuit board, sail switch and igniter... I also replaced the gas regulator, nothing to do with the heat issue just didn’t like the one that was on there. It’s an Atwood 8535. I took the screen part out where the gas flowes through, there was some rust blocking a few places, wire brush cleared that up. I put everything back together and still having the same problem... fan comes on, igniter lights and the heat blows briefly and kicks off, repeats two more times and shuts down, light blinking 3 times. They plan to be on the grid at some point, there’s 4/10 of a mile through neighboring property to deal with and I’m not up and all those details. There will be a generator involved in the set up and the solar panels will not be mounted on the roof of the camper, some type of stand to keep them off the ground. The biggest issue is going to be when the camper is not occupied in below freezing temps to keep anything from freezing (like keeping the t-stat on 35-45) and having enough battery reserve to keep the fan running for what could be a couple of days between visits to the property. Obviously outside temps will play a factor in any situation, just looking for ideas on how much solar will be best, there’s room for a few more batteries as they aren’t mounted on the trailer but in a box right next to it.651Views0likes0CommentsRe: No heat

I’m still without heat after checking what I can see, batteries are fine and propane is good, wire connections that I can reach are tight...it’s got to be something internal. I’ve been looking at the removal and it does not appear to be to difficult, my concern is how is the exterior vent attached and also how the blower is attached to the duct work?634Views0likes0CommentsHow much solar do I need?
I’m posting for a friend. Let’s say you have 6-6 volt golf cart batteries and looking for enough solar power to keep the basics in a 32’ trailer going through the winter months. The camper is being used as temporary living space for hunting and the building of a cabin. Lights, heater, fridge water pump will be used, not much in the way of electronics or microwave. They’re trying to keep from having to winterize during off times so the biggest thing is to keep the heat on during down times. Is there a particular kit or package you would recommend? Camping this weekend and it’s a bit chilly... went to turn the heat on and nothing! The fan kicks on for a minute or two and then shuts off. All the other gas fixtures are working properly. I crack the line open at the heater and there’s gas going to it. We just purchased the camper before Labor Day, it’s a 2014 Jayco Jayflight 32 BHDS. I’m not sure of the heater manufacture but the exhaust on the outside is a single round vent. Any suggestions?3.2KViews0likes17CommentsMonitor Panel
Just came home with another travel trailer. 2015 Jayflight 32 BHDS. It has a KIB monitor panel with the switches for water pump, electric and gas water heater operation. All of the switches function, water pump runs and gas fires on the water heater. Here’s my issue, none of the lights work. The switch lights do not come on and none of the lights come on when I press the tank levels or battery level. Anyone have a suggestion on what it could be. Howdy there, So we’re looking into buying a new (to us) travel trailer. In the past few days we’ve looked at a 2016 Keystone Laredo and a 2015 Tracer, both had the fiberglass or plastic nose and both were faded, discolored and the graphics were peeling badly. These two trailers are less than 4 years old, is this common? We realize buying a used camper you have to except some aging, our 2008 Surveyor which is all fiberglass is still in excellent shape, the stickers are 100% in tact. Is there some way to bring the color back to life? We realize the graphics are what they are, stickers.. but what was brown is now a light grayish color with streaks running from the top, just makes it look old and at $20+ thousand dollars we think should look better.
