Also most rv shops will have an assortment of used hitch bars you might be able to trade for yours. we did that for my daughters TT. Dealer said, find one that works and leave yours. Even trade.Re: peculiar brake situation with Prodigy P3Had a similar problem with my last T.T. Had it in the shop for 4 new backing plates and bearing repack. Got it back and everything seamed alright until going to Florida from Wisconsin I lost breaking on 1 side coming down Mt. Eagle. Scary, it would pull to one side. Lucky I had a dually to keep it straight. Found out that when the shop put the new backing plates on a magnet wire got pinched between the plate and the axle flange. Didn't show up until hard braking. Look for anything like this. Also get rid of the scotch locks. Do it right with the proper connections. Good Luck and Happy Camping.Re: Air Flow DeflectorsI have both Air Tabs and air deflector. Deflector used on headache rack on long box dually with golf cart with long top on cart. Up, over, and around front of airodinimac travel trailer. Haven't washed any bugs off in 20 years and 2 trailers. The Air Tabs really eliminate the bow wave from passing semi's. No push as they come around you. Also keep the back of your trailer clean as the vaccumn doesn't come back together until about 20 feet behind your trailer. Happy with both products. I keep my units for a long time, so worth the expense for me.Re: Rear Kitchen - good idea or bad idea?We have a Cruisers Enterra triple slide with a RK. First RK in over 50 years of camping. Love it. Should have got one years ago. 2 big windows out the back and full windows on the campsite side. It has setback axles on a frame built for a rear kitchen with trail air suspensun and shocks. Pulls and rides like a dream. Nothing ever moves off the counters. Buy what you want and remember, if the sales mans lips are moving, he is probably lieing.Re: Tow Vehicle Spare - Have you checked it?Funny this came up today. Putting 4 new drive tires onto my Dually on Wed. Not worn out just aged out 14 years old. shop owner, long time friend asked about the spare tire. How old it was. Original 25 year tire from 95. said well guessed he will have to put a new lift cable on it to. Never been down.Re: New Truck - Is My Math Right?Get yourself a Sureline tongue scale. about $125.00 on E bay. Take the scale and some blocking along to look at trailers. Set the scale under the hitch and weigh it at the dealer. Then you can add for LP gas battery etc. Keep looking until you find one that will work. I use my scale all year long to check on the weight. We also use it on our race car trailers an for $10.00 and a beer or 2 we weigh other race rigs. Have fun and welcome to the forum.Re: pressure washersNow lets talk about actually washing a trailer. Always apply soap with your soap nozzle, low pressure from soap container, from bottom to top, other wise the soap runs down and streaks. next use the soft brush to scrub the dirt. Now switch to you high pressure 60 degree nozzle and rinse from top down. if you want to, now is the time to put some liquid wax mixed with water, about 4 or 5 ounces to a gallon into a separate jug an again apply using the low pressure nozzle and rinse again with the high pressure. Side note. always test first for color change. Filion type siding and some cheaper Gel coats will absorb the soap colors. Never use a red or brown colored soap. Always use the lightest colored soap you can. ONE MORE NOTE. RUN as fast and as far as you can from an AIRSTREAM Alumiumn trailer. Any caustic cleaner will remove the shine.Re: pressure washersOk guys, coming from my 30 years of owning a mobile pressure washing operation let me give you some advice. I have pressure washed thousands of trailers from tin sides to million dollar motorhomes. If your pressure washer comes with a O degree tip, THROW IT AWAY. If you don't know how to use a 15 degree tip or a rotator tip then THROW THOSE AWAY TOO. Always use a 40 or 60 degree tip. Stay away from close contact and keep moving. We use a hot water 3000 psi unit with 2 guns and 5 gals. per minute. Put soap on with low pressure, bottom to top, brush scrub, and rinse top to bottom with hot wax injected into rinse water. Never had an insurance claim in 30 years. As mentioned above dirt or film requires scrubbing to be perfect.Re: What happened to all the postsGood posts so far. Have to agree with most of the comments. I have been on here about 8 or 9 years and don't post unless its something I know about. I check on RV.net at least every day during the winter months. Its already here in Wisconsin with 2 snow falls in October. I always enjoyed Dutchman Sports posts and also Old Biscuits as well. Lots of great people on here as well as some real jerks. Just delete the bad ones and move on. I have been camping/Rving for over 50 plus years and still enjoy it. Hope to get a few more in yet. Have fun and enjoy life and don't sweat the small stuff.Re: help with skirt fenderI blew a tire on my Enterra last year and lost a skirt. took the old pieces and stopped at a few dealers to see what they had in their rummage area. Fourth place I stopped said he had a ton of them upstairs. Came back with the exact size and mounting holes. Slightly different color but can't see both sides at once. Asked how much and when he said $15.00, I got the cash out as quick as I could and got out before he could change his mind. Check some dealers...
