Might work for youRe: Which 5th Wheel for Full TimeingWe have a KZ Stoneridge rear kitchen. It is designed for full time living and has met our needs very well. We purchased new and especially like the two year warranty on everything. If the component manufacturer only offers one year, KZ covers the remainderRe: solar wiring questionI use Bogart gear for my solar application. I installed 30 amp breakers on both sides of controller and a 250 amp catastrophe fues between the battery and the inverter. It is a small investment for safetyRe: Solar crunch time! Please review my plan.I just completed install of an almost identical system. Batteries are 240 amp hour crown 6 volt. Panels are 150 watt Renogy. Same tm2030 & sc2030. We are using 1000 watt inverter to power TV, stereo, tailgater and lan. My wire sizes are similar with longer runs. We have been able to get too 100% SOC by 2pm with partly cloudy skies. Batteries are down to 65% at 7am when we get up. My plan is to carry Yamaha 2400 generator for backup. Let us know how it works.Re: New toys from a geek friendI use his solution just as described and it works well. The key thing to remember is that your internet will only be as good as the bandwidth provided by the park. I rarely find a park with good service. Too many people trying to stream video and audio. I am usually connected to my Verizon hotspot through the lan. David's video will step you through the whole process.Re: Apparently it's our turn! Assistance denied on the road! That decides it for me. It is time to renew my coverage. I will go with Caochnet. One of the reasons is the failure of the GoodSam Team to respond. All they tried to do was end the post by getting it offlineRe: Is solar the way to go?This weekend, I put the final touches on my solar system We have a 36' 5er with all the accessories. I installed two 150 watt Renogy panels, Trimetric TM2030 monitor & SC2030 solar charger, 1000watt Xantrex inverter and 2 240AH 6volt crown batteries. The system powers all 12 volt items including LP frig & furnace plus the inverter with TV, dish and wifi. Our typical TV use is 3 to 4 hours. After two nights of normal use, batteries are about 60% of capacity in the morning when solar starts charging system. The days have been sunny. Like others, I plan to use a generator to bulk charge for 1 to 2 hours every morning and then an hour in the evening while preparing dinner. The question is will it pay for itself. I don't know. What I hope is it will allow me to stay off grid without hours of generator operation. If it does, then it is worth every penny.Re: My solar install (updated pics of roof pg 2)That is a very nice job. It looks very similar to the installation I am doing in our 5er. All equipment is the same except for 2 240A/H crown batteries. The two differences I see are that I installed a catastrophe fuse (250 amp) on the positive and then ran all positive wires from it. The second is that I am not planning on a batters disconnect. I will use the breakers when I need to disconnect the panels. Let us know how it works.Re: Any reasons NOT to buy a Dish KING Tailgater? The VQ 4500 can be used portable or permanent mount.Re: voltageI think the best way to describe it is to say there are 2 110volt legs/circuits.
