Basically both parties agree on the lowest acceptable offer and they advertise it for you on their lot and on their web site; when you have a buyer they handle all the loan payoff/sales paperwork for you. They have had ours since mid April which we don't mind because we have not had time to use it this summer anyway and don't want to put more miles on it, but it needs to sell soon because I'm getting a bit twitchy/stressed. On occasion CW will buy your RV from you but they don't want to buy ours. paullac wrote: getmoving wrote: We have owned our prior rental (Thor Freedom Elite 31 R) for two years and now have it up for sale. Although it is our 2nd camper, my husband is active duty Air Force and it is just a pain to own one while moving so much. We will wait to buy our next after he has retired. We thought we were going to be at this current location for 4 years but now that has changed to two meaning we move again next spring. Ours is on the huge CW Chattanooga, TN lot if anyone knows anyone who might like to help us out and buy ours. It is currently "advertised" at $58K but can be had for just over $45K. It's in great condition and has 50,000 miles on it. It also comes with the chalks, leveling blocks, tire covers, and spare tire. http://www.campingworldofchattanooga.com/class-c/2012/thor-freedom-elite/427052 I'm guessing you're doing a consignment sale. It's a little off topic, but if you don't mind, could you write few lines about how that works? Always been curious. Thanks! Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? We got a tow dolly for ours this weekend and my husband is planning our 1st out of the local area trip.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Just wanted to pop back in and say that we did purchase the 2012 Freedom Elite (previously a CW rental) over the weekend. Camping World fixed or replaced everything we pointed out (minor cosmetic stuff), added a spare tire, and tossed us a $500 CW gift card. Upon the first test drive the previous weekend, once you got it up to abt 65 the steering wheel shook like the tires needed to be rotated and balanced; by this weekend they had actually completely replaced the front 2 tires and it drove very smooth. Oh and the purchase came with the new Good Sam Elite 3 year membership.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Thank you both for the reply. I forgot to mention that we already have a tiny Starcraft AR-ONE that we would be trading in. IAMICHABOD, We will make sure to ask about the MFG warranty and the appliances. Paullac, They have a 2008 Sunseeker, 28 ft, with 22,000 miles on it on consignment for 58K. We checked it out but weren't impressed. It had an entertainment center, but we like the bunk in the Freedom Elite as we have two girls ages 8 and 10.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? We are making our mind up on buying a 2012 Thor Freedom Elite 31R with 50,000 miles (rental) on it from Camping World for roughly $57 K, and that's with taxes and all this weekend. Its nice, looks clean and smells new except for a few cosmetic scuffs inside. They are rotating and balancing the tires, tossing in a spare and a few other tidbits. Does this sound like a decent deal? We still have to read over the service records before we give the final go though. This would be our 1st Class C.
