Whatever one likes.Re: Almost disasterI'm sorry to say, that anytime I have a vehicle worked on anymore, I want to watch what's going on.Re: Holiday Rambler anyone?Been the gas route vs Diesel. Have owned both....If it was me, I'd be looking at a nice used Disel Pusher. I would never buy a new RV.........to many problems the first year plus you take a HUGE hit on depreciation. You can buy a nice used Diesel for the same amount or even less...........diesels don't have the noise of a gas and they ride so much nicer. My suggestion before you buy is to drive both........and not around the block, but take them out on the freeway and if possible over so steep grades. Just my thoughts, been there done that. Good Luck.Stop Light/turn signal blowing bulbI keep blowing bulbs on the left side of my travel trailer. Fuse remains intact. Any idea why the bulb would blow and not the fuse? What should I check? ThanksRe: 2014 Fleetwood Bounder Rear Slide FuseThis may or may not apply to you. I had a 2007 Fleetwood Southwind 32V and had a slideout problem. After calling everyone under the sun, including Fleetwood sending me a electrical schmatic which didn't help. Somehow I found out that the Printed circuit boards were behind the AC panel in the bedroom. I had to remove the metal AC breaker panel and behind it were the circuit boards. In my case one of the push on connectors plastic keeper clip had broken and the connector was not making contact. A nylon tie wrap fixed it in a second. Might be your problem. Good LuckRe: MH used newer or olderFirst off, test drive a gas motor home, and then a diesel.........you'll see the difference. Make sure your test drive includes freeway driving so you can feel how they handle when a big rig passes you. Try driving up a long grade so you can compare power, plus the noise difference between a gas rig when it down shifts and revs up........typically you can't carry on a conversation because of the noise. Right now diesel is about a buck and a half more here in California the gas, so that's a consideration Both Gas and Diesel will get about the same mileage, which is around 8 mpg. I've had 3 gas motorhomes and 3 diesel pushers. Make sure you look hard at the floorplan. One of my diesel motor homes, didn't have any place to put a garbage can under the sink, also the sink in the bathroom, had barely enough room for a tooth brush. Spend some time sitting in it and just looking around for awhile, to visualize what it would be like to stay in it from a comfort level. Typically gas motorhomes are less expensive to maintain then diesels......oil changes are less, tires depending on the years, are bigger then gas, hence cost more. One other thing, if you're looking at older Monaco, stay away from the R4R Chasis........they ride terrible. The R4R's were found on the low end of the diesel line for Monaco, Holiday Rambler and Safari's. Again, test drive over serveral different roads to see how they handle and ride.........Don't be afraid to take it out for 30 or 40 miles test drives, it's one of the best things you can do when thinking of buying.Re: Foggy windows help pleaseThe best thing to do is replace the dual pane windows that will always leak given enough time with single pane. There are single pane windows that are thicker then normal and have a similar R factor of dual pane. Obviously with single pane you never have to worry about them leaking. The price is about the same as having your dual panes resealed. Funny how we think dual panes in an RV are a big deal........yet we have this huge front widow(windshiel) that is about the size of all the other windows combined and that windshield is NOT dual pane. Save the money and hassle and replace with thicker single pane.Re: Shopping for a used TT. Experiences and OpinionsI looked at some new travel trailers the other day. What a bunch of junk. Talk about poor quality. Doors that fit at the bottom but were over lapping by an inch at the top. Doors that wouldn't latch because to much gap between the lock and the striker plate. Trim pulling loose, just really poor quality. I was just looking at floorplans, have no plan to buy new, especially after looking at the garbage that's out there. To much to choose from in the older used market.Re: What size generator to run AC??Thanks for the replies, sounds like perhaps the best way is to get a couple of portable 2000 watt gens.Re: Diesel fuel prices … how is that affecting your RV travel ?I just sold my 40 foot diesel pusher. A couple years ago it cost about 50 cents a mile in diesel, now it's doubled and costs $1.00 a mile. To expensive for me. Downsizing to a small travel trailer (just me and my dogs) and a gas truck to pull it with. Probably still won't be doing as much camping as I use too, but can go when I want.
