Here is my dilemma, While trying to attempt a cool mod of my own i made a big mistake.I was installing a key rack just inside the door to hang keys on and as I drilled through the bedroom wall I ended up witn a 1/8" hole in the outside fiberglass wall What does anyone recommend for a fix that will last Go to your local big box store like Lowes or HD, and in the glues section they should have some Loctite Multi-Purpose Repair Putty. It's an epoxy "dough". I used it when my neighbor kid shot a target arrow thru the outside wall of my travel trailer...... You can just stuff it into the hole, smooth it down to the surface and them touch it up or like someone else said, put a decal or sticker over it. It dries to an off-white color.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos bob-lori-scout wrote: Hated the tacky brass handles on all of the cupboards, those were the first to go - replaced them all with some nice branch-style handles in a dark bronze. Ours had the tacky bright brass hardware as well and the cabinet edges had a strip of the same tacky bright brass "redneck bling" as the DW called it. I removed the cabinet hardware, cleaned it all well to remove any oils, primed it and painted it with Rustoleum Hammered Bronze spray paint. Saved a boat load on new hardware! I also removed the shiney brass trim from the cabinet edges, filled the grooves with wood filler and sanded it, then used those oak veneer strips that you apply with a hot iron, trimmed it, stained it to match the cabinets and no more "redneck bling".Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 Whiskeyman143 wrote: Sorry to hear that Doug, My wife loves em and we can't wait to try em out. It's more for ambiance than anything and we won't have them on for more than a couple hr's a night if that. For some reason some engineer or designer thought it would be a great idea to put a White outdoor light right next to the door, I really don't want bugs in my camper every time someone goes in or out the door at night. Everyone have a safe Memorial Day Weekend! LOL! Yeah I can hear the Amish guy at the assembly plant..."Hey Gunter...let's put one of dose der electric lights by da doorway and mess wit all dose heathens, der Parson will be proud of us at der next barn raising!" Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Whoa! I like those lights......but I showed them to my wife and she said no way....:( "Then what? You gonna lower it down, put curb feelers on it, and little thin tires with chrome spinner rims and and huge sub-woofers?" ...... She takes all the fun out of it.....Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 RUFFSTUFF wrote: dougwhite wrote: Not at all. :D It's just that out here in West Texas the combination of the "caliche" dust (very alkalyd) and then when it does rain, it can really play havoc on those female brass contacts in the pigtail connector. Keeping them clean and covered helps a lot. I do the same on my boat trailer and utility trailer. Sounds like a perfect use for some dielectric grease. Yes sir, and I use dielectric grease. But it seems stuff sticks to it real bad when we get one of these out here.......hence the cover also. :E Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 Fisherguy wrote: Really? Ya mean there's something wrong with just unplugging it and leaving it hanging pointing down so water can't get in? They are also avaiable at Walmart, Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops, etc. They are Berkley brand. The aluminum pieces I made from some aluminum stock from Lowes and used my trusty Dremel tool.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 locknload223 wrote: Nice mods. Did you use 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 or 5x5 for the fence post and where did you get that little black cover for the sewer fitting? Thanks. Thanks. Used the 5x5 post, found some large rubber spacers at the local Ace hardware and mounted it to the bumper with bolts thru those to cut down on rubbing and such. The cap is a Camco product. Comes standard with the Rhino hose.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Added a trash bag dispenser in the closet where it's out of the way. Added fishing rod and reel holder over back bed. The aluminum pieces swing out to remove the rods and are there in case a rod falls out of the foam holder. Holder for the towing lights pigtail, keeps it off the ground. The holder is an electrical conduit clamp from Home Depot. That's just a hitch ball cover over it to keep it dry. Vinyl fence post from Lowes, drawer slides out and holds sewer hose and stuff. It's a vinyl gutter with two PVC pipe handles on each end. Wal-mart, Academy Sports, Sports Authority, Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, Gander Mountain, and I saw some at the local Target also. The one's Wal-Mart carries are made by Berkley.
