Not at all. :D It's just that out here in West Texas the combination of the "caliche" dust (very alkalyd) and then when it does rain, it can really play havoc on those female brass contacts in the pigtail connector. Keeping them clean and covered helps a lot. I do the same on my boat trailer and utility trailer.
