The sleeping issue was the major factor for me.The pull out works ,very comfortable sleeping. We are still doing shake down.Next month we are going to try a longer trip.We are coming down from a 40 ft DP.We are tourers not full timers. I know a lot of people have brand loyalty. My father brought me up to buy Ford vehicles and always vote democrat.Times change.Anyone considering a class B should look at this product.I didn't start looking at this model but some good buddy in RV land helped me outWinnebago Sprinter Van with pull outPicked up my new van and took it for test run.Generally pleased with the layout.I was very pleased with the pop out bed.I was worried about class B's because of the sleeping arrangement appeared uncomfortable to me.But this unit was very satisfactory.Still learning how to use the various elements but all seemed to work fine.I was very surprised when the vehicle spoke to me.Can't go above speed limits without getting a constant warning. All and all pleased with purchase. Now my misadventure.Pulled into parking space in Tubac Arizona to have breakfast before travel for the day. When I returned to vehicle couldn't get parking brake to release.Called AAA and someone arrived 2 hours later. In the meantime located local mechanic both told me they couldn't fix my problem and to call Mercedes.Did that and was told they would send flat bed.Didn't happen.Called dealer and the young ladies referred me to mobile mechanics. All my messages went to voice mails and calls never returned.Repeated calls to dealer finally got us through the young screeners and the dealer was going arrange to have us driven home if we couldn't get the tow truck to transport us.But no tow truck.Dealer said he would also call Mercedes about a tow. From 8 in the morning to 2 in afternoon and many calls no action. Finally a flat bed truck arrived with an SUV sitting on top.Tow driver was planing to pull us.No one told him the brakes were locked nor the size of the vehicle. He said he got the tow because he was in the area.He was a young Mexican-American and wanted to help.Went under unit and told us cable was kinked.Tried to straighten the cable without success. He said if he disabled the cable we could drive. So finally after 6 hours we were on our way.Roadside assistance is a myth.Called AAA,Winnabago who says they have roadside assistance,Mercedes, the dealer but only got help from a tow truck driver.Tomorrow it is to the local Mercedes dealer for a fix.Re: Buying 2015 Road Trek or Airstream InterstatI think it can be had for under 100K if you are good at playing the barganing game.We paid a little more but my wife talks too much.Re: Buying 2015 Road Trek or Airstream InterstatThe bed pulls out from the back like the typical fold out couch in MH's and extends but it leaves a space that can only be filled by pulling the back rest into the space created and that requires the side out.The slide out is only about two feet and is easy to do.It felt comfortable but there are spaces between the joints and I think it will take a night of sleeping to see how it works.I don't get to take the van out until friday for it's shake down.Re: Buying 2015 Road Trek or Airstream InterstatI don't know anything about stripes. It is silver with chrome stripes but nothing colored.Re: Buying 2015 Road Trek or Airstream InterstatYou can never tell about quality. My first MH was a Dutch Star. Many on the net recommended Newmar products.Took a trip down to Cancun and along the way my Cat broke down and left me stranded in the middle of nowhere.Had the tow car and traveled around looking for a tow truck to get me back to a city where there was a Caterpillar facility.Tow trucks to haul a 40 ft MH don't exist in that part of the world. My wife speaks german and we found a german man living in Mexico who called around trying to help us..After a week sitting on the side of the road a larger tow truck, not nearly big enough, showed up hauled us the the Caterpillar facility destroying the front of the MH.Caterpillar fixed a broken pump in the engine and the tow company sent me to a car mechanic to fix my MH.We knew that was not going to work and were not going to get any satisfaction.Headed back to the USA and discovered at Beaudry that the whole frame of the MH had been bent out of shape. The shop fixed everything up for 10K.Insurance didn't not cover Mexico.I had a Motosat on the MH and was able to communicate with Caterpillar in the US and they took care of the motor repair under warranty but the failure of the engine cost me neverthe less.Re: Buying 2015 Road Trek or Airstream InterstatThank you all for your help.Bought the Winnebago ESA c70 diesel.Discount from MSRP was 18%.La Mesa has an RV show at Pima Fairgrounds.Re: Buying 2015 Road Trek or Airstream InterstatI was considering the Interstate because Lazy Days has them in Tucson, not too far from Oro Valley.La Mesa is also here and I am going to look at the E-trek.I have bought from La Mesa before. The biggest issue for me is to get a model that looks like a van and not an RV so I can park it in my driveway. My last MH was parked indoors at a facility 45 min. from home and besides being expensive was a pain to bring it home to load up.I like the idea, if the spirit moves me to jump into the van and go somewhere. I guess I have to look at the Winnebago as well. Thanks for heads up.
