Mine had 4 broken welds each about 4 inches long. When we pulled the underbelly off around the pin box, we also found that the front cross member that the pin box was welded to was completely broken through. If you shine a light up into the area around the pin box, you should be able to see the welds. Still going round and round with Keystone on this. According to an insurance appraiser that specializes in rv repairs, this is a common problem with Lippert frames.Re: Slideouts moving/stoppingThanks guys. A picture is worth a thousand words particularly the one showing the red covering. Now I know exactly what I am looking for and I know exactly where they are! Thanks again!Slideouts moving/stoppingHaving problems with my slideouts when moving in or out. The 5er is a 2006 Copper Canyon Sprinter (Keystone) with Lippert hydraulic slides. Bedroom slide works fine, it's the other two. One or both will move 6 - 10 inches then stop. After waiting 20 - 30 seconds, when you hit the switch they will move about 6 - 10 inches then stop again. Some other posts on the same topic suggested it may be a circuit breaker problem, but I can't find any circuit breakers. Battery is new and fully charged so it's not a battery problem. Sure would appreciate it if any one has any ideas on how to fix this.Re: RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED KEYSTONE 339 FWSLS 2007I have a 2006 Copper Canyon very similar to yours. All my holding tanks and the fresh water tank are 45 gallon. A word of caution. The fifth wheel hitch on mine started breaking away from the rest of the trailer frame. Take a flashlight and shine it up into the openings around the fifth wheel hitch. I had 4 broken welds each about 4 inches long. This is a not uncommon Lippert frame failure.Re: Washer/dryer or washer and dryer combo ?We have a Kenmore stacked unit. The dryer is vented. Because it's 110 the dryer takes a while but so what. Both can handle a fair sized load. One of the complaints I've heard about the all in ones is the load capacity and drying time. DW would give up RVing rather than give up her washer/dryer.Re: Lippert Frame FailuresWOW, just what I needed today. Don't you just love these forums? I'm looking for help with what to me is a serious problem which is what did other people with similar/same problem do to fix it. I didn't say anything about warranties or looking for someone to "step up" and fix it. Among other things, it's a safety issue isn't it? What I don't need is for the resident expert(?) in everything to take me to task for objecting to some of the responses.Re: Lippert Frame FailuresForgot to add that I contacted Keystone three times now. Each time they tell me that someone will contact me shortly. Don't know what their definition of shortly is but it's a week an a half later and I's still waiting.Re: Lippert Frame FailuresMy original post was about Lippert frame failures. So how about keeping the responses applicable to the topic. I don't care how many repair departments say they haven't seen any Lippert frame issues. Mine is literally tearing apart. The part of the trailer frame that the pin box bolts to is breaking away from the rest of the trailer frame. I can see 4 broken welds each about 4 inches in length. Broken welds at this critical juncture in the frame are an indication of poor design, engineering, workmanship, or a combination of the three. I have two concerns. First, have other people had similar issues and what did they do about it to get it fixed. Second, how many more units are out there with similar problems. And just for the record, I don't run overloaded.Re: Rear wall of 5er detached from floorI had a similar issue on our 2006 Keystone Copper Canyon Sprinter. The whole rear end panel was letting loose from where it was attached to the sidewalls to the point where it would be open over an inch at floor level. I discovered that the problem was that the end wall panel was attached to the sidewalls with a thin strip of metal on each side. When that piece of metal failed, the end panel just started pulling away from the side walls. As far as I could tell, there was nothing else holding that end panel on to the sidewalls. At least not from the floor to about 2/3 of the way up the wall. There was no way to replace that strip of metal because you couldn't get at it. I tried several different fixes (long screws through the end panel and into the side walls) etc. that didn't work. I finally fastened an 8 foot piece of angle iron to the bottom of the end panel and then fastened the angle iron to the trailer frame I-beams. That took care of the problem. Interesting problem to fix when you're on the road and you think your end panel is going to come completely off!Re: RV quality issuesMy advice would be to stay away from anything made by Keystone. We had quality issues with our 2006 Copper Canyon Sprinter from day one and it hasn't ended. Only issues fixed under warranty were no AC power to over half of the outlets in the unit and a window that couldn't be opened. This was right out of the box. Took a repair facility days to track down the wiring problem because Keystone couldn't OR wouldn't give them a wiring diagram. None of the other multiple issue we had with the unit were covered by Keystone after the one year warranty period.
