All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Insurance for full timersI had a similar question. I am going to be living in my new trailer full-time but it will be stationary for about a year before I start traveling. I am having a hard time finding insurance that will even offer my coverage because the trailer is stationary, even though I'm keeping the wheels on. Any suggestions? I've heard good things about Miller but I haven't had a chance to contact them yet. I would prefer Progressive because I would get a discount through my own bank (USAA) but they are denying me coverage. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!Cruiser MPG Ultra Lite 2450RK vs Keystone Bullet 248RKSHello! I am about to purchase my very first travel trailer to live in full-time, and I am trying to decide between two models. They are both 2017 models: one is the Cruiser MPG Ultra Lite 2450RK and the other is the Keystone Bullet 248RKS. They both have fiberglass exteriors, heated and enclosed underbellies, and are solar ready. I live in Colorado, so I need something that will withstand the winters. They both have floor plans I love, although the Bullet has a little more storage, and I like the design a little more. The costs are pretty comparable, and I don't need to worry about weight because I don't have a tow vehicle yet. I know a little more about the Keystone brand than I do about the Cruiser. Does anyone have any reviews of either brand? Any pros and cons? Anyone have any suggestions to help make my final choice? Thank you so much!Re: Places to find a used RV to buyThank you! I will check all these options out!Places to find a used RV to buyHello! I was wondering if anyone knows of any forums other than Craigslist or RV Trader to find a used RV for sale. I am looking for my ideal rig and would like to expand my search as much as possible to find the right one. I live in Denver, CO. Thank you!Re: Brand new RV'erWow, thank you all so much for the feedback! I am definitely prepared to take my time, and I will be hiring an inspector if I go private dealer as I do have limited knowledge of mechanical systems. I am going with a Class C for sure, as I do not have a good towing vehicle and like my small car. I will be full-timing working and living in an RV park for now, until I can go part time working online and travel a bit. I did go to an RV show at my local Camping World and walked through a bunch of different Class C's to see what kind of layouts I liked and didn't like. I made notes about what kind of bedroom style I liked, how much space I felt like I actually needed, and kitchen layouts (I hate cooking, so I don't need a lot of counter space ha ha). I will continue to post questions and get advice as I work through all this, and I am grateful for everyone's support and kindness!Brand new RV'erHello! I am working on my very first RV purchase, and I am looking to be a full-timer. I would love some general tips of the trade! I am still in the search for my perfect rolling home, but I have my finances covered through a local credit union, I have read a lot of blogs, forums, and books, and I am planning on taking a day course once I actually make my purchase. My current debate with myself is private seller vs. dealer. I would love to go private, because in general I think you get more and the owners are more honest (and from what I've read, every RV owner is a friend!). But I'm worried I won't find what I want or I won't have easy access to service. What advice do you have for a first-time buyer? Thank you, and I look forward to sharing information and advice!
