Two light bulbs have burnt out, but we are unable to remove the plastic coverings to get to the bulbs. It looks like we could just pinch in the sides and remove the plastic, but that procedure is not working. THought about using a screw driver, but we don't want to mess up the plastic. Any suggestions?Insurance for full-time RVersCould any of you recommend a reasonable insurance company. We thought we had good coverage with AAA, but they are dropping us in a couple of months. We sold our home and live full time in the 5th wheel. Also, where do some of you full-timers license your truck & camper?Re: Forest River CraftsmanshipForest River--ha ha! After dealing with that company on our modular home, we wouldn't even consider buying an RV from them. Would not back their product at all. Even after Buffet took over, their line still gets poor reviews. One worker told us that he went in as a carpenter but after a couple of weeks, he was told to be an electrician because one was needed.Driving Advice PleaseWe are taking our first really big trip from Kansas City to Phoenix. I get that we should drive I35 to OKC and then I40 west to Flagstaff and then down to Phoenix. Just wondering how many miles to plan for each day while driving the 5th wheel. Would like to get to Phoenix before 5:00 rush hour if possible.Re: looking for a users manualOur 5th wheel had no manual either, so we requested one from the manufacturer. They sent us a catalog of new models! Just hoping nothing seriously goes wrong.Re: More than one televisionCamper came with 2, but I would much rather have closet space where the one in the bedroom is.Re: Why did you go with a 5th wheel? When my husband and I began to consider RVing, we planned to get a motor home, but changed our minds when considering gas mileage. We decided to go with a 5th wheel because of the basement storage. Since we are full-timers, we need to carry as much as possible. Also, we thought a 5th wheel might be easier to sell than a motor home. The step-up is higher than with a TT, but it is roomy for us and has lots of storage. (could always use more though)Re: accessing wet insulation at front of 5th wheelerWe had the same problem. The overflow hose did not drain down through the basement. My husband crawled under the 5th wheel, removed all of the old insulation, drilled a hole in the basement, put in a new hose that drained through that hole, and then replaced the insulation. Sounds like a big job, but it wasn't too bad. Fortunately, the leak was not from the inside plumbing.Air MattressWhen we were shown our 2008 Doubletree 5th wheel, we were told it had a king-size hide-a-bed sofa. Well, it doesn't, but it does have a two-level air mattress under the sofa. One level is full size, and the other level extends 21" past it. I am trying to figure out how to use this mattress. Right now I have too much stuff in the living room to play with it. Anyone ever have anything like this?Route from Wichita to AlbuquerqueThis topic has been moved to another forum.
