They should have never paved it!Re: Northern Lite 10-2 Bulge/Buckling Repair AdviceSpott, as for basement crushing, had the same problem as Covered Wagon on my 2004 10-2CD. It basically was a side buckling of a plywood truss. Cut some 2x4's to length and wedged and glued them in place to reinforce the bottom of the right hand side truss that was having the problem. This was Keith Donkin's (Northern Lite) recommendation. As for a picture, have one that looks like the inside of black painted box. Drop me email and will send this to you.Re: 2017 Ford Superduty BedsFrom what I can tell you are not supposed to use the aluminum camper bed as tie down for a slide in camper. So decided to go with TorqueLift frame mounted tie downs in SRW 2017 Crew Cap with 6.2L gas with a 2004 NorthernLite 10.2 camper (~2350 # dry). Just ran this rig over the Denali highway, which is the old road into Denali National Pak with no problems. The Denali Highway is 100 miles of gravel 30 miles of poor pavement. It is good test of your vehicles tires and suspension. It is also known to claim a transmission of two. It also has a 100 mile stretch without cell service. Ride was better then my old 2005 F350 with 6.0L diesel which developed a dramatic high pressure oil leak. 500 PSI minimum is required to fire the injectors on that vehicle and when Ford tech service said you had to remove the cab, it wasn't worth cost to fix it, so asked the Ford dealership what to you have that replace it.Re: Why do my truck batteries die?Have Batteries Plus Store Brand AGM Dual Marine Batteries that failed last September. These were purchase 8/20/2013 so only manage to get 26 months on these batteries that are warranted for 48 Months. Brought them in for testing and was told they are still good for 50 Amp hour x 2 batteries. They presently last only 5 hours with draw from Norcold propane refrigerator at 3 amps most with solenoid engaged. Have some Life Line Batteries inbound as replacements. Would suggest avoiding Batteries plus SIL 24 AGM batteries. My battery charger is Xantrex 40 Amp set up for 3 stage AGM, when not on the road and hooked up to shore power. Run the Norcold refrigerator about 4 months during the summer, especially now one does not need any lights.Re: Wow, people up here are asking insane prices for campers.Am sure something will show up on Craig List. It took me about four years of looking, to get the rig I know carry.Re: 2016 NL DelaminationDamage is the same corner as what occurred on my 2004 10.2 CD. Fixed this with several layers of long stranded fiberglass. Suspect Alaska's roads had something to do with this.Re: Everything Was Going So Well.....Until It Wasn'tReminds me of sliding sideways in my driveway two winters ago. Cost me 1/4 panel. Am surprised to see the damage to your rear axle... ScaryRe: One thing a TPMS won't show youDarn, at least you found this before it ruined your trip.Re: Denali Highway trip report with photosI also spent the 4th of July weekend up on the Denali Highway. High water made for poor fishing, but still the scenery was fantastic.Re: Mosquitos Invading Our LanceBelieve the crawl in via the refrigerator duct. Must it admit it State Bird of Alaska... but any thing with in the confine of my camper is fair game.
