I clean the area where the suction cups will go, clean the suction cups and moisten the cups as I install. They stay on for maybe a week or so and then they fall off. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to get the suction cups to stick? Thanks.Re: First Hand Experience TireMinder TPMSI have the TST 507 TPMS with the non flow through caps. I have been very satisfied with the system and the customer service I've needed. TST has been very helpful with all questions I've had. Latest was, on occasion one sensor would not come through to monitor. Not always the same one. I also have a wireless Accurite Refrigerator and Freezer monitor. I was told that since they both transmit on the same frequency, there migh be an occasional overlap. Usually, in a couple of minutes, the TPMS monitor is receiving all sensors. I've been very happy with the system and have over 25k miles on them.Re: Propane level gauge-do I need one in each tank?? bob213 wrote: Saw a video on these the other day. Sound good but yet I hear they are calibrated for a 20# tank and anything above is a little bit off. Too expensive for me, I wait till one tank runs out, switch tanks and refill empty. Indicator on regulator cross-over is enough for me. tank sensors I'm looking at getting two of the tank checkers and using the app for my cell phone. The app will allow you to enter your tank size: 20, 30 or 40. Yes the tank checker is set to read to the 20 lb tank in either percentage or inches of propane. For the 30 and 40 lb tanks it will register 100% until it gets down to the 20 lb levels. The phone app gives more detail than the wall monitor you can buy with the tank checks. They will also allow you to read your tank if it is laying on its side.Re: Costs in CanadaI went to Alaska in 2015, traveling through BC, Yukon, Alberta, etc. and used my VISA card. Didn't check and was charged about $125 total for conversion fees. First time is a mistake, second time a sign of stupidity...:) Last summer, when up to Quebec, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and PEI and used my NEW VISA card that didn't charge conversion fees. My daily charges were converted at the daily bank rates without any fees. Had about $100 Cdn for incidentals and saved the hassle of going to Canadian Banks to get money or use an ATM machine with their $$$ fees. Also found that the Canadians don't like American Express or Discover. Had a great time and already planning a return to PEI and NS this summer.Re: Don't let this happen to you!Our brick and stick homes are built in the elements, exposed to rain and snow, etc. They generally use an exterior grade of plywood or chipboard. I imagine cost might be a consideration, but with all of the stories that result in soft or rotted floors, why doesn't the rv mfgrs use exterior grade flooring and maybe treated lumber for the walls and roof trusses?Re: Do you keep original tires on rv when going to Alaska? 3oaks wrote: explorenorth wrote: TenOC wrote: The roads in AK are no different than the roads in the lower 48, but the distance between towns is much greater. Many of the roads are different in that they use chipseal rather than asphalt. It's much coarser, and although it's not obvious on car/truck tires, on my motorcycle, I get FAR less mileage on tires on northern roads. Obviously you are our out of touch with rural America in the lower 48 states. A lot of us still travel on "chipseal", crushed gravel and shale roads even down here. I went to Alaska in 2015 and up PEI and NS last summer. Over 20k miles. My tires still look good and the wear is even. These are the original Chinese tires that came standard with the trailer. I have a TPMS and monitor TP and heat constantly. Proper TP and monitoring is very important. As a strong suggestion, I would carry both a spare tire, making sure it fits, etc., and a bottle jack that fits and capable of jacking your TT. While it is good practice to have a road assistance service, there are areas that don't have any cell service. Worst case scenario would be to unhitch TT and drive for either tire repair or cell service. I had a great time the sights and memories will last a lifetime.Re: EZ Pass over Outerbridge Crossing moresmoke wrote: If their sensor setups are working right it can tell the difference. Crossed the Tappan Zee this summer, not realizing there is an eastbound toll now. Got a bill in the mail for the right fare. Some places, like the tri-state toll way around Chicago, I would pay extra to not go through the cash lanes. I love the folks that have to dig through the car to find enough change. I used to live in the Chicago area. I think this is still current, people who pay CASH pay DOUBLE what the EZ Pass payers pay.Re: 30 lb Propane TankThanks. Put the tank back in the rack and sloooowly opened the valves. Seems to be working. Switched the auto valve left and right and seems to work in both positions. What would cause the automatic valve to shut down after working for two weeks? My gas usage has been for the refrigerator (Or, does it operate on electric when in a full service camp site?), hot water heater and occasionally, the oven. I use a 1500w ceramic heater to keep the trailer warm at night, so no furnace and no gas for the furnace. Thanks again.Re: 30 lb Propane TankThanks for the comments and suggestions. I will give them a try tomorrow.30 lb Propane TankI was out for 74 days and thought it would be good to fill/top off the tanks. They were filled and topped off. One took 30 and the other 10. Put the tanks back on the rack That was two weeks ago. Opened both valves and set the automatic valve to the right. Two days ago, no hot water. Tried the cook top, no gas. I went to the tanks and the auto valve showed red on both tanks. I checked the valves and the left tank was closed. Opened it and back to normal...I thought. Took the empty to get it refilled. It felt heavy. I opened the valve...nothing. the fella at the gas station also thought the tank was heavy. He put it on his scale, balanced out for the tare weight and found 20+ pounds still in the tank. Opened the tank valve and nothing. What's my problem? Defective valve? Stuck valve? What are my options? What can I do to check it out? Thanks.
