What options do buyers have if their brand new RV has multiple problems requiring it to be taken in for service constantly? These are problems with the RV/house portion, not engine problems. Any help of suggestions would be appreciated.Re: Class C Motorhome Bren53 wrote: We are looking to buy a new 2018 Class C. So far we have looked at a Conquest 25 ft. We've also looked at the Thor Freedom Elite 29FE and a 28Z, also a Jayco 26XD Redhawk. Out of these we really liked the Thor 29FE the best with it's options. I've read reviews that aren't kind to the Thor Freedom Elite series. Are there others out there we should consider? We are in a rural area so have to drive at least 100 miles to look at and then not a big selection. Have been looking online. Pro's and con's on any of the above and for sure the Thor 29FE? Mostly just the 2 of us and an occasional camp out with the grandkids. Thanks for any help and info. I currently have a 2017 Freedom Elite 29FE that we purchased new in nov. 2017. All I can say is I loved the RV at first. Now, very sorry to say...not so much! Very disappointed in it. Great floor plan, great price, but have had very little time enjoying it. Too busy getting things fixed. We have put more miles put on it to and from camping world service centers(2 different centers) than we have to enjoy it. It currently has 3718 miles on it and all but about 2200 miles have been traveling to camping world (s)for service. Just dropped if off again today. :(. Not sure when we will get it back of if I even want it back. Having it has caused a lot of stress and provided 0 enjoyment. I"m seriously considering legal action against camping world and Thor if I have any further problems with it. I just want them to take it back! I know others are very happy with their units and I don't mean to make this about all 29FEs, this is just my experience. Wishing I would have listened to others on this site. Good luck with your search!just for fun, name or no nameSo just for fun, has anyone on this forum named their RV? We have a new 2017 Freedom Elite 29FE. I have been trying to think of a name for it. Boat owners may understand this delimma because just about every boat has a name! Our first RV was a used 1984 33ft Holiday Rambler. It's name was the "Big Mamoo " and was given that name by the original owners. We didn't have our second RV long enough to name it. So if you have given your RV a name, what is it, and how did you come up with the name? :)Re: Question for owners of Thor Freedom Elite 29FE.... goufgators wrote: sandyhu248 wrote: I have the same RV and was wondering the same thing. Have you checked in the access panel under the shower in the bathroom. Our pump seems to be louder when running than the pumps In our previous RV's so I want to make sure it has not worked its way loose. It has just been too cold to get out to our RV and look for it. We just got ours in November and have taken 2 short trips during the holidays. Love the RV!!! Just waiting for this southern freeze spell to go away so I can enjoy is more. :) If I find it, I'll let you know. Likewise, let me know if you locate it. I found it!!!!! Was a nice day to get in the RV and look for things. It is located under the sofa right next to the fresh water tank. It looks pretty easy to get to if needed. I first checked under the shower because I thought that is where the sound was coming from when using the water pump. But nothing under there but heater duct and water lines. :)Re: Question for owners of Thor Freedom Elite 29FE....I have the same RV and was wondering the same thing. Apparently the camping world store where we looked at the Freedom Elite is under new management. Both the sales and services managers have been replaced as well.(the sales guy Danny, had told us this was in process 2 weeks ago) He offered us a pretty good deal on 2017 29FE that we were interested in. He has already promised us a fairly good trade value for our current RV and wants us to bring it to them to look at to see if he may be able to get us a higher amount for it. He admitted that he really has to get the 2017's off the lot and will work with us to get us the deal that we are happy with. Sooooo.....what to do. We really liked the Freedom Elite 29FE that we look at. It had the floor plan that I like. Plenty of travel room for our dogs. Has the outdoor cook area (loved that). Not the top of the line as far a fit and finish, but I can live with that. Full warranty etc,etc..... We have been looking at RV's for a few weeks, both new and late model used, but what we are finding are either way out of our price range or are just not what we really want. We looked at a couple of class A's but they are either way too big, or not big enough. We have decided that the class C would suit our needs. So, I told him that I am NOT comfortable with the reputation of their service dept. He transferred me to the Service manager who assured me that "things are going to change around here". And if we have any problems in the future with their service dept, to call him direct. Ok....could be a bunch of ****, but were gonna give them a chance and take our RV to them tomorrow. Will look at the new RV again ( have looked at it about 3 times already...) We will see what kind bottom line deal they offer. :?Re: 2017 Thor Freedom Elite 29FE / need opinions pnichols wrote: sandyhu248 wrote: We have 4 dogs .... Boy-O-Boy .... you get 4 gold medals! We have only one new pup that we're frantically trying to get potty trained before our upcoming RV camping trip around Thanksgiving - and that training is driving us crazy (and probably the pup too)! ;) too funny!! Good luck with the training! All of our pets are rescues, 2 dogs are "side of the highway" rescues and 2 were shelter dogs. The cat just made his way to us about 7 years ago. They do pretty good traveling. Just gets a little hectic when we stop for potty time!Re: traveling with dogs and cats in a MH.my pets are only in their crates while the motorhome is moving. We travel on I 95 A LOT and we have seen some terrible accidents on that road. Once we get parked, the have free run just as they do at home. :)Re: traveling with dogs and cats in a MH. jerseyjim wrote: Currently have one dog. 16 pounder. Right now, as in the past we have NEVER "crated" any dog be it at the house or in any RV. So...my response to you is that our dog is not in a crate in the RV, she likes to sit on top of the sofa and look out the window. FWIW Please know, our pets are never in the crates at home and the crates were bought specifically for traveling in the motorhome. I just feel that some sort of barrier, as opposed to to bouncing around in the Motorhome ,is safer for them. In the case of an accident, anything that is loose is going to go flying forward very quickly!!. NOT an option that I would consider.traveling with dogs and cats in a MH.How do you all travel with your pets? Do you use crates? We have 4 dogs( small, medium, large and extra large),and a cat. When we travel in our MH, we put them in their crates and hook the crates down with the seat belts. The extra large is a Great Pyrenees so he's too big for a crate. He rides on the folded out sofa with his leash hooked to the seatbelt. . I feel that this is the safest way for them to travel. My hope is that if we would get in a accident, the crates would prevent them from being bounced around the MH. Any thoughts or ideas of a better/safer way for them to travel?
